Introduction

The purpose of this document is to introduce you to a form of psychological influence known by its Indian word, Masska.

Masska in Hindi word that actually means "buttering" others (or Subjects) to a point that they become easily receptive (or influenced) to your request or point of view. According to our findings, Masska comes in many flavors (which is the subject of this article), and its categories and types are a growing list. For the people who are curious, me and some of my friends at United Airline, started to implement Masska in our day to day business dealings. To our surprise, it has been a very effective tool of persuasion. Of course, it is not guaranteed to work 100% of the time, but in my humble opinion it always can give you the edge that you need. Please try it, and let us know how it works, and if you come across an new category, please don't hesitate to drop me a line, and I will be more than happy to add it.

Players

Masska needs an Actor to perform it, and it need a Subject (or a victim) who would be on the receiving end of Masska.

Purpose

As it has been already explained in the introduction section, Masska's main object is influence the Subject into accepting the desired objective, which can be as satisfying a little request such as an advice, borrow money, get a date, or even just to be liked and accepted.

Application

For Masska to be effective, you need to do the following:

Background

For a very long time, I have built a natural immunity against Masska. Unintentionally, a system have been created to quickly recognize Masska, and almost immediately filtered it out, so Masska almost has no affect on me whatsoever. For a while, I really thought that there is no need for Masska; you have no idea how wrong I was. It has been a shock for me how most people make decisions based on their emotions rather than careful analysis and a clear rational process. Since I have been emotionless in my decision making process, I really thought the whole world is like me. I always assumed that if the right arguments are presented, people would just follow though with the rational decisions. Again, how wrong I was!

Anyhow, where I work at United Airlines in Schaumburg, IL, an Indian Software Engineer, Supriya Basu, often praised me before asking. This form of Masska was overwhelming to the point that I was sometimes annoyed of it. Later, it came to my attention that this form of praising others (or "buttering") is called Masska in Hindi, and that is how the ball started to roll.

Masska Names

Masska could have many names. Many confuse the Types of Masska with Masska names. A Type of Masska is a Masska that has a clear goal or an intention behind with the clear intention to influence the Subject.

Type Discoverer Comments Examples
Overwhelming Maskka S. Mansour Too much Masska, this is the holly grail of all Masska. Usually it is so obvious it makes you giggle. From my experience, women loves this type of Masska.
  • Did you loose weight to day, you look really lovely
  • OMG, you ageless by time as if you've been in a time machine.
  • No body like you, you are really one of a kind.

Masska Free Masska B. Chowdhury This is the type of Masska that contains almost no Masska whatsoever. This form of Masska usually implemented by people who have little appreciation to Masska and to its power. Personally, I used to be like that, and some times I practice it when I drop my guard. On the other hand, people who do not practice Masska usually have a difficult life in their social and business dealings, and when Masska is practiced and its power is observed, it will be appreciated. Usually it takes time to appreciate the power of Masska.
Masked Masska E. Ladalla This is a well hidden Masska that even an expert cannot detect.
Incendiary Masska K. Willis This is the type of Masska when used on a subject that is well versed with the art of Masska, and it is quickly discovered. In such a case, we suggest to quickly switch to Masska Free Masska to gain credibility, otherwise, you will lose credibility quite rapidly.
Reverse Masska S. Mansour This is when the Subject recognize that Masska is being applied on him or her, and he or she counters back with there own form of Masska.
Masska Free Zone S. Mansour This is a place where Masska by any of its flavor could have the reverse affect. If a person does not not tolerate Masska, then you should avoid Masska by all means.

Masska Categories

I have been able to identify two Masska Categories: Verbal Masska, and Physical Masska. It should be noted that for a Masska Type to be recognized it has to have influencing factor that helps in achieving the intended objective.

Verbal Masska

Verbal Masska is the the type of Masska that requires verbal communications on the Subject. So far, the following Types have been identified.

Type Discoverer Comments Examples
Deadly Masska S. Mansour This is the type of Masska where you pump somebody with his or her own B.S. Overtime, they actually start believing their own B.S. and eventually will self destruct since they would drop their guard and never re-examine the original assumptions made early on . It is similar to the Emperor who was called naked by a boy while everyone else did not dare to tell the emperor that he is naked!

Now this type of Masska requires patience and persistence, and always making sure that the subject's B.S. is always credited to him/her, and preferably it should be well documented as well. This way the subject won't be able to deny responsibility when things head south.

  • You know, I see you point. That is really a clever idea.
  • Can we get that in writing, this will benefit the whole project immensely.

Incremental Masska E. Laddala This is a reward based Masska, as the first patch of Masska works, then you increment to the next level
Bouncing Masska S. Mansour This is a type of Masska that involves making the person feels really good before criticizing them. So you pump the Subject to a point that criticism could be accepted. This form of Masska has unpredictable results, and it is work in progress. Sometimes it work well, other time it blows up in your face, especially if you have too much criticism.
  • You have been doing really great lately, how do you get the energy for God's sake. You know, I think you will be even more effective if you change the presentation from this side little bit.
Sincere Masska S. Mansour This is the type of Masska that actually makes the other person feel good about a good work that they did. Here you need to be genuine and sincere. The subject might know that he is the subject of Masska, but that is ok.
Self Promoting Masska S. Mansour This is the type of Masska where Masska is used against yourself, and its intention is to make you feel good. We all do and need this type of Masska, especially after accomplishing a big task and receive Sincere Masska from our peers.

On other hand, if you over do it, and you do not come down to your senses, it you might get carried away. In such a case, you would become the sad victim of a Deadly Masska.

Negative Masska S. Mansour The intention of this type of Masska is to put down the Subject and make him/her feel bad. It should be noted that this type of Masska could have positive affect if the Subject could take advantage of the negative Masska, and to use it correct him or herself.
Group Masska S. Mansour This type of Masska is done when there are more than one Actor ganged on one or two Subjects. The numbers affect alone can influence the subject to conform to the desired goal(s).

Physical Masska

Physical Masska is the the type of Masska that requires body movements to influence the Subject. It should be noted that this category cannot by applied on its own, but in combination with Verbal Types of Masska. So far, the following Types have been identified.

Type Discoverer Comments Examples
Smiley Masska S. Mansour The is the type of Masska requires you to smile as you are communicating with the subject. Its purpose is to put the Subject at ease and to distract the rational communication into the emotional part. Do not underestimate this type of Masska. I know its affects firsthand, especially since I redid my teeth.:-)
Gift A Masska S. Mansour This is one you give the Subject a gift and its goal to make the other person feel that he owes you something.
High Five Masska S. Mansour This is when you make the subject feel that you are in agreement with him or here, and you initiate a high five.
Open Door Masska S. Mansour This is the type(s) of Masska that work well with women, especially when you open the door(s) for them. From my experience, opening the door, or pulling the chair, or any obvious form of showing respect in public, would be very well appreciated. This really works as magic.

It should be noted that opening the door is not good enough, you need to door with respect, maintain eye contact, and plant a big smile on your face as you do it. I do not care how obvious it is, ALL women love it. The result is simple. You will be called a nice guy for doing that.
