My name is Ane Katrine Zeeb. Im Greenlandic.
I was amased to find this homesite, by looking up ZEEB in a searchsite.
I would like to know more history about the name. Where does it originally come from, and is there any relations between the hundreds of people in Greenland with the surname Zeeb, including my family, and al-Zeeb. I know from my own family, without having facts on it, that our surname is from either Netherlands or Germany.
Do you have any further information about this, i would be very glad if you could write me on my email, written above.

I am glad a good number of people from al-Zeeb are contributing to its page on this website. I hope this number will continue to increase.
This will probably present a challenge to other towns to increase their contributions to their towns' pages.
If this happens, I'll be even prouder of al-Zeeb, therefore, prouder of my Palestinian nationality.

أنا أسماء تيسر السعدي حفيدة فايز محمد علي السعدي انقل هذه المعلومات عن بلدتي الزيب نقلا عن جدي المذكور
*الشيخ الأحمدي يوسف السعدي ابن العلامة الأزهري أحمد يوسف السعدي هو إمام و خطيب و عالم القرية و شاعرها حتى عام 1948
* ديب صالح السعدي (( أبو سامي )) هو مختار القرية من عام 1930 حتى 1942 ( عام وفاته )
* في عام 1938 كان حريق القرية الذي سببه الإنكليز حيث انتقموا من أهل القرية وأخرجوهم منها بسبب مقتل سبعة من جنود الإنكليز من مستعمرة ( أقريت )
و قد اختاروا من شباب القرية عشرين و وضعوهم في حافلة وأجبروا ها على المسي فوق لغم
انفجر اللغم فقتل عشرة منهم و جرح عشرة و كان الفضل بن عمر السعدي و سامبو ( سائق الحافلة التي صاحبها حسن افندي ) من الشهداء الذي قتلوا في هذه الحادثة
وعند دخول اليهود إلى القرية في 14 \ أيار \ 19 \ 1948 قاوم أهلها و صمد ثلة من الشباب و رفضوا الاستسلام أوالخروج مما أدى إلى استشهاد( سامي يوسف السعدي و محمود عوض و أبو الشيخ ) رحمهم الله جميعا

i miss my village ..i miss u my people

At last.....I thaught I'll never see the place where my grandfathers were born.....and it came just in time, so we won't ever forget that this is where we all belong....

I am Samir El Saadi son of Suleiman El Saadi my grandfather was Rashid Suleiman El Saadi. We are originally from Al-Zeeb. I have never seen Al-Zeeb and never knew there was such an internet site, but I tell you when I saw this website and the pictures I had tears in my eyes.
My thanks and best wishes to the person who started this, this is something fenomenal and awesome. If there is any El Saadis out there from Al-Zeeb please e-mail me would like to chat and get to know you. I live currently in Edmonton, Canada.
I always wish and hope that God may grant us the day where we will be able to go back and see our original HOMELAND. God bless all of you.

I am doing some research on al-Zib and would very much like to meet with anyone who is descended from one of the original inhabitants. I understand that there may be at least 2 such people here in Canada. If they are living in or near Montreal or Toronto I would very much like to meet one or both of them in the near future.
