تقع قريتنا بجانب "مجدل غزة" و"الفالوجة"، أراضي القرية (مطوّبة) ولها أصحابها وكل فرد منا يعرف أراضيه في القرية، وكانت غزة هي مرجعيتنا في سندات الملكية والأوراق الرسمية. تقسم بلدتنا إلى منطقتين؛ الحارة الشرقية وكبيرها عبد العزيز أبو الدبر من كبار ملاكي القرية، والحارة الغربية وكبيرها رباح عبد العزيز، وهناك مناطق أخرى لكنها صغيرة جاء سكانها من قرى ومناطق خارج بلدتنا، ولا يوجد لهم أراض فيها. كل حارة في القرية كانت تتجمع في ديوانها جاعلة منه مركزا لضيافة الضيوف الوافدين، يذبحون لضيفانهم ويقدمون لهم واجب الضيافة المتعارف عليه في تلك الأيام، وكبار هذه المضافات السابق ذكرهم هم مخاتير لحارتهم.

حاجة من "عبدس" تتذكر قريتها

ستة وخمسون عاما مرت على ضياع فلسطين وتحول قضية أهلها والمشردين إلى ملف غارق في غبار النسيان. وتحول حق العودة والتعويض إلى أحجية وحلم بعيد المنال. ومن كان عند نزوح أهله عن الأرض والدار والعتبات طفلا صار الآن كهلا، لم يعد لديه سوى القليل من الوقت والأماني وذاكرة مسننة يستند إليها، ويتحسس من خلالها فلسطينه التاريخية، فيما يده الراجفة تربت مطمئنة مفتاحا عتيقا، مخبئا في أعماق فؤاده الجريح. وتقول له فيما يشبه الهذيان المكابر"إحنا لا بد يوم نعود".
