One of the largest families of Albatani- East is Musallam. Others are Musleh, Mansour and many other families who have relations of marriage with Musallams and so on. Now most Musallams live in Al-Maghazy Refuges Camp at the middle area of Gaza Strip, other migrated to Arabian gulf countries and ferw of them are in USA or Europe. My parents moved into Kuwait, and get back to Gaza in 1994. I was born in Kuwait (and have not ID till now, but I will never forget I am from East Batany, I am teaching my child he is Batani not pure Gazan. One day we will get back.

The Musallam family had at one time owned 150 dunums in Batani al-Sharqi. Today they are refugees in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. They are principally located in the Meghazi refugee camp. No matter what the outcome may be, our hearts and minds are determined to be repatriated. No Palestinian/Arab, regardless of his/her persuasion, can convince us that the Gaza Strip is our home. May God redeem us.
