تظهر هذه الصورة إمرأة بتيرية ترتدي ثوباً فلسطينياً مطرزاً بالحرير الفاخر وعلى الأرجح أنه من صنع يدها. تضع بين يديها جاروشة "طاحونة" ذات يد خشبية ملساء لجرش العدس أو القمح، الذي ربما كان من حصاد يدها أيضاً. وهذه الجاروشة كانت في النصف الأول من القرن العشرين تعتبر واحدة من الإبتكارات والإبداعات الفنية اليدوية الرائعة في الريف الفلسطيني. لهذا، كان إعداد طبقاً من شوربة العدس أو الفريكة يستلزم سلسلة من الإجراءات تقوم بها المرأة الريفية، دون الرجل، مثل تنقية العدس من الشوائب و "تعسيفه" من القشور وجرشه بهذه الآلة الدوّارة التي من خلالها جاءت شوربة العدس ثمرة جهود مضنية بعد يوم حافل من الإنجازات المنزلية والحقلية، حتى قيل: "مالك مجنونة، قال من جر الطاحونة". فليبارك الله في تلك الأيادي الطاهرة الكريمة المعطاءة. مع تحيات عمر حسن حماد - مطار الملكة علياء الدولي
