Is it oil, or a military strike after the resignation of Fallon? Is it settling and arranging compromising equations that can coexist with a Palestinian unity government? Is it a temporary truce for preparing a new war against Syria and Lebanon and Gaza? Is it a preparation for raids on Iran and preparing for a new stage of adapting to the difficult equations and waiting for the surprises of the US elections?
All these questions surround the tour of the US war leader Dick Cheney in the area.
Oil and Israel are the two priorities of Dick Cheney, but experts said that what is certain is that this tour will fail. Some experts said the war leader is coming to raise the spirits of his allies in the area without being able to promise them with big victories. It is probable that he will discuss with them plans of assassinations under the title of preparing for the next stage through eliminating some disturbing sides before the end of Bush؟s presidential term. He will also ask the leaders of the oil states to take quick measures in the light of the economic dangers, which result from the soaring prices of oil.

Hitting the Israeli helicopter in Gaza by Hamas fighters is the most important event in the Palestinian topic which jumped to the forefront of attention on the level of the area.
On the Israeli level, the discussion continues on the available options after the big failure in Gaza and experts call for negotiating Hamas in addition to activating the US movement which sponsored yesterday a meeting between Olmert؟s government and Abbas؟s government:
- 1. Resistance continued targeting the Zionist colonies amid new threats from Barak of invading Gaza.
- 2. The continuity of the Egyptian endeavors to reach implicit agreements with Hamas on a truce but Israel refused offering clear commitments concerning any understanding that includes stopping the operations,
On the other hand, experts in European affairs focused on the protests against Gaza events in front of Shimon Perez in Paris. The available information said the French authorities forced the media to veil a lot of the protest scenes including destroying the décor of the platform prepared for Perez؟s speech.

Achmed,
The house I was refering to that has been condemned it the home of the Yahya family. While you are correct that THIS house has been condemned because it is falling into the ocean, you obviously dont understand the lengths some people from the Village of Fardis have gone to to get the Kibutz, that is now on the village of Tantura, to agree to allow workers to fix it.
This is politics Achmed, the kibutz dosen't want the house fixed, they dont want the Arabs from Fardis to have any excuse to be at Tantura, or "Hof Dor" as they call it. You could show some sensitivity, in that, these remaining houses are significant to their Palestinian owners now living in disapora and will never set there eyes on them again.
and Jason,
Mousa is still in Fardis...in the same house.
Samir lives in Brisbane Australia with his family, and can be contacted through clicking on this posts Authors name, it will redirect to send an email to him.
God Bless.

Greetings to All,
Thank you for this site. I was born in Al Tantura and lived thru the massacre in 1948. To add insult to injury, I was detained with who ever survived the Massacre in concentration camps for over 15 months. I was 15 years at the time. This site brougth tears to my eyes.
I am now a retired engineer and live in California, USA.
Justice should prevail.

And to you all, anyone who thinks that they may be able to help stop the destruction of this house, and preserve our presence in Tantura, should get involved... time is very short now.
The only remaining symbol, should this house go, of the Village of Tantura, is the grave of the sheikh of the village and his Family, will it be the next and last thing to go?
The Moshav and Kibutz Members wont stop until all physical evidence of Tantura is gone,
and Tantura like so many other destroyed villages live only in our hearts.

Rasha, It is with such sadness that I inform you and your Family, that today, the house of your Fathers Parents, on the shore of Tantura, has had a court ordered, destruction order placed on it.
You see, for many years this house has been a thorn in the sides of the Moshav and Kibutz Members,
as it is the only thing that still allows access by the Fisherman from the Arab VIllage Fardis to their beach side resort.
The Fishermen have applied time after time to be enabled to fix the house, but the Moshav and Kibutz Member wouldn't allow it... you see why.
They have insisted that is is unsafe, and once this house has gone, the fishermen that have used is for so many years, and maintained our Arab presence in Tantura, will no longer be allowed access to Tantura,
and will have to go to near by Arab Village of Jeza Zarka.
I cant imagine Tantura without this house, it symbolizes the hope, that Tantura was still a little bit ours.....
The Fishermen have tryed to stop the order, but to no avail..
I am sorry and I wish there was somthing more that we could do.

I've never been to al-Tantura, but it came to life for me in
my father's stories. I would like to know more about daily
life in the town, before the massacre.
My parents live in Germany and I live with my Germany husband
near Atlanta. I have one brother, Hilal, and three sons, 11
years, 21 months and 4 months old.
My dad was almost crying with joy, when he saw the picture of
his parents' house on this website for the first time. I've
learned a lot about al-Tantura and would like to learn more
from the people, who lived and still live there.
Best regards,
Rasha Brinkmann-Yahya

To All Al-Tantura people , It is a chilling feeling to know that Tantura lives and the legacy will continue as long as there is people like you to pass it on .
My Grandfather has passed away 1990; my Father followed him in 1998. Both had a dream to return one day.
As for me the closest I got to Tantura is the web site that I found today searching the Internet.
All what I had was the little information that I passed on to my children as we live thousands of miles away.
Keep the Hope alive.
