Hello, I am deborah Sarfatti (maiden name)
I graduated in 1968 and remember very well madame sylvie. Frere Jean taught us typing and soeur Theresa bit our fingers with a ruler (lol) What a great school!! Beautiful years of our lives. Frere Michel was always very nice fellow. My favorite was Soeur Eugenie, she was an angel. Indeed this school has taught us all harmony and loving each other without prejudice. This site should not be a propaganda, but should bring people together. It was the best school in the world and I feel very lucky to have been educated by such professional staff.
this is the school that my grandmother keeps telling me about, she learnt in this school, my grandmother, who is a refugee now in jordan, describes this school with tiniest details..

Hello/Bonjour,
This is the entrance to collège des frères in Jaffa. Once through the gate & the doors there's a long corridor. On both sides are classes and towards the end on the left is the dining hall. At the end, through another set of doors is the school yard. On the 2nd floor used to be the dormitories for the pensioners. I was one of them from 1960 to 1968. Shalom, Pavlo.

My name is Paula, and I has been there in 90´s.
I miss all my friends ( Liliane,Haytham, Roy, Hachem, Fataine, Jamal, Frida, etc etc). Great School!!! Good times.....
hello! i have garduated a few years ago from CFJ, and i wanted to tell you guys that my impressions of the school are as good as yours. the kids all come from different backgrounds and they all manage to get along perfectly. the teachers also come from different cultures and places, which makes the learning experience all that more enjoyable and interesting. thanks to this school i've received one of the finest educations you can get in israel, and met life long friends from all around the world.
MY NAME IS GEORGE GERSHON KORDA. I PASSED SOME 3 (1962-1965) PRETTY HAPPY AND VERY FRUITFULL YEARS AS A PENSIONAIRE.
I WAS 9-12 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. I MOSTLY HAD GOOD SOUVENIERS FROM THE RECCESSES AND FROM FADOUL(THE HOUSE MASTER ?) TAKING CARE OF MY KNEE INJURIES. GOOD EDUCATION AND HABITS (THE BEATINGS/PUNISHMENTS WILL REMAIN A VERY UNPLEASANT SOUVENIER...)U R WELCOME TO WRITE ME.
I agree with Daniel.I was at the College from 1951-64 & can testify that many of the children were Jewish or Christians who came from all over the world. We had arab children from Jaffa, Nazareth & other areas. Some were Christian, some Muslim. The Freres were catholics and some lay teachers were Jewish or Christian. We all mixed & grew up together. We left College Des Freres with a solid education, values and tolerance. This also applies to the College Des Soeurs.
I'm a Catholic married to a Muslim lady. This is the month of Holy Ramadan and I support her in her fasting. As to Selim El Far I regret you felt compelled to leave. Some of your friends in Jaffa didn't.I hope your years at the College gave you the basis for a good & fruitful life. Nor Daniel or myself are using this platform for political debate but to make the point that the College Des Freres & Soeurs are left out of it. They are still too close to our hearts,40/50 yrs later. Regards and may the Peace of God be with you.
I was a student at College des Freres Jaffa, and I am addressing the people in charge of the web site called "Palestine remembered.com".
I Think you should stop using my school as a medium for your political opinions with all due respect for your opinions. Especially College des freres, because that school was a perfect example of a non-political school, there were arab students, jewish students, & christian students there all getting along with each other, in many cases living and eating together if they were pensionaires. There were no distinctions between any of them, everybody was treated equally. The staff at the school was also a mixture of both arab and jewish teachers, the people who ran the school, the freres were catholics. That school was a perfect example showing that people can co-exist in peace no matter what their origin. It will be appreciated if you use another medium for your cause.
Respectfully yours: Daniel Friedlander
Went to school there, from 1960 to 1963, yes Salim I remember Frere Benoit the Director too, he was nicknamed 'Boulboul', then there was Frere Santos, Frere Michel, Frere Jean.

hello friends
I know this College as my home. This is where I received my tuition from the year 1938 until April 1948 when I left (compelled to leave) Jaffa with my family in a ship (Titus) that took us to Beirut. I still remember the name of the teachers; Frere Absalon Benoit (Director) Frere Joseph (Procureur) Frere Erlid, Frere Jean Kostka, Frere Eugene, Frere Edouard ,Frere Louis. I shall never forget that.
