First I want to thank all who made this site possible.

Although I was born outside Palestine, I hope this site will allow me to find distant and close relatives from Zir'in.

I live in USA and I welcome any notes from my root's town.

Salamu Alaykom my great neighbours !! I never imagined the day will come for me personally to fight back for my own village and country, and through this site and internet I can speak out loud with my voice till the day comes and we build back all what the occupiers and murderers have vandalised in our own lands and villages . In our Zir'in ! I am a descendant from Al Haaj Ibrahim, nice to meet you all my big family! Please introduce yourselves and mention here the name of your grandfathers who established Zir'in, our village before the Genocide.

========2nd part of the letter out of two=========
For me as a Jewish person it is hard to look straight up on that part of my history. It is much easier not to think at all about the Zir؟in people. However I think that people and history can؟t and shouldn؟t be erased form our conscience.
The history of the place, as I learned it, starts at 1948 when from Zir؟in there was continues shooting on the main road crossing the valley Zir؟in overlooked, and therefore Israeli forces took over Zir؟in and a few months later Yizreel was established. Today it is obvious to me that there are big gaps in that story and that it might be distorted. Growing in Yizreel I never heard anything about the people who lived in Zir؟in or about the life in Zir؟in. Obviously the history of Zir؟in and its people didn؟t start and finish at 1948. You are still living next to me today. I have so many questions I would want to ask a person who grow up in Zir؟in or that heard stories about Zir؟in.
I really hope that some of you will contact me.
Maybe I can be of a help to you as well?

Salam and Shalom

===========1st part of the letter out of 2==========
Salam to all of you.
I؟m a Jewish 32 years old man who was brought up in Kibbutz Yizreel, which was built on the land of Zir'in.
For some of you the first reaction might be to regard me as your enemy and to hate and curse me. I hope to find those people who don؟t feel that way, or people who are willing to communicate with me despite of those feelings.
I feel it is my responsibility to learn about my people؟s history, a history that sadly coincided with your people؟s history. I think that as a Jewish Israeli, who wants to live peacefully with Israeli Arabs and with Palestinian Arabs, it is my responsibility to learn about your history. I realize that my celebration of Independence is your day of the Nakba. It is unfortunate that our two people had to fight against each other. I think that a big effort has to be made by both sides for a true reconciliation. In this letter I؟m trying to do my first small step.

I really surprised to see my grandfathers home land, which makes me cry for our old days, at least it reminds me of my late father Abu Adnan.

I would like to thank the people who truly stand behind that great job. I love that country so much and love all who belongs to it. If God is willing, I hope all of us to come back to rebuild our lives.

I'm originally from Jenin. Currently, I live in the USA and I'm a US citizen. I was born and raised in America. I always loved my hometown and recently my sister got married to a gentleman from Zirin. I never knew that the battle of Ain Jalute took place close to Zirin.
I believe that everyone from that area should be proud of their heritage and one day peace will entitle all to go back to their homeland.
