2. Finding Potential Cases

If you are aware of any potential refugees from other towns whom we can interview in Jordan, please contact Mr. Rakan Mahmoud at +962-79-661-5275 with your information. Currently, we are pressed hard to interview people from towns that we have not yet covered, your help is CRITICAL since time is our main enemy.

3. Conducting Interviews

Help preserving our history and culture for future generations. To make it easier on you, we have authored a training manual and a list of questions. We suggest studying these two documents carefully, then use any available technology (such as video camera, digital recorder, or even regular tap recorder) to retain Nakba Oral History as much as you can. Once done, we will be more than happy to post your work at the site after crediting you completely for your work.

4. Transcribing

We are in need of people who have the time and patience to carefully listen to what is spoken in the interviews, and to rephrase it to traditional Arabic (Fus-haa). Then the manuscript has to be typed in Arabic text, which later should be translated to English. It should be noted that you will be COMPLETELY credited and your work shall be published next to each transcribed interview.

أعزائي الساده القائمين على الموقع , تحية حب وتقدير خالصه على جهدكم الرائع الذي تقومون به ......وبعد// لدي اقتراح أعتقد ومن وجهة نظري أنه هام للغايه!!!!! فبعد متابعتي لتسجيل الفديو الذي تفضل به السيدان حوى وقدوره من مدينة صفد ومع كامل تقديري واحترامي لشخصيهما ولعائلتيهما الكريمتين/ تبين الآتي ـ 1_ أنه لا يوجد معايير يتم على أساسهااجراء مقابلات, منهاوأهمهاالعمر, فما زال هناك على قيد الحياةالكثير الكثير ممن كانواعند اللجوء في أواخر العشرينيات وأوائل الثلاثينيات من العمر وفي كامل وعيهم وهم بالتالي أكثر قدرة على سرد الأحداث بطريقه أدق فهم عاشوها وهم رجالا وليس شبابا صغار السن وكثيرين منهم صنعوا تلك الأحداث اقتراحي الأول/ أن نراعي مسألة العمر 2_ التخصص فليس من المعقول أن آتي بمن لم يكن له علاقه بالثوار وأسأله عن مواضيع الجهاد والثوار, أولمن لم يتعلم وأسأله عن المدارس والجامعات . أو من كان شابا صغيرا وأسأله عن الفلكلور . اقتراحي الثاني/ أن نراعي مسألة التخصص في الأسئله 3_ العفويه جميله , ولكن ليس لدرجة أن لا ننتبه لبعض الكلام الذي يلغي قضية فلسطين من أساسها في عقول أبنائنا الشباب/ مثال رفض السيد حوى لحق العوده وأنه تعود على الأردن ويفضل البقاء فيها حتى لو سمح له بالعوده الى صفد, مما يسمح بنشر هذه الثقافه في عقول أبنائنا.... قد يقول قائل بأن هذا رأيه وهو حر, صحيح هو حر ولكن عندما يريد أن يجري مقابله وتنشر في النت لا يعود حرا, وأنتم أيضا تكوني أحرار في أن تسجلوا له أو لا تسجلوا, ولم ألمس بأن توجه الموقع وأهدافه البعيده ,هي نشر ثقافة الغاء حق العوده, بل على العكس.. اقتراحي الثالث/ أن يتم مونتاج قبل النشر ليس بهدف تغيير الأقوال وتزويرها, بل لحذف مالا يصلح للنشر وقديسعد ذلك المتحدث نفسه........ مع حبي واحترامي وتقديري لكل جهدتبذلونه في سبيل قضيه عظيمه,فالقضايا الكبيره لا يحملهاالا الكبار أمثالكم.
