What a tragedy. I am so sorry. This is why I try as hard as I can to argue for the restoration of a full right of return for the exiled ones.

Why is the world supporting the zionist ethnic cleaning and was fighting the nazi ethnic cleaning, i don't know. Maybe too much television but it's not an excuse because no one can say "i don't know".
I'm sure at the time will do it's work and Israel will pay someday, i hope soon, the price of those terror acts.
Best wishes from a swiss living in Sweden.

HI, My story is a story i have heard from my father. i am an american teen living in the US. I am also Palestinian. My father told my when the soldiers came to his villiage, the first thing he did was climb the tree infront of his home, and he grabbed the brid's nest. He was saving the birds from the Israilies... how sad is that?

After having planned on that already for a while, I went today to look for the remains of IMWAS! I received, in addition to this great website, very helpful input yesterday from a German monk, who resides at the monestary above the archeological site EMMAUS.
The entire area of the village is almost totally covered by all kind of shrubs, flowers and cactusses - but there are some structures, and with them I would need the help of someone, who is familiar with the place, the way it used to be!
I found for example something which clearly resembles a large cave, expanded by built stone walls with window, a hole in the roof for the smoke and a excellently constructed archway as entrance! Another structure is a tomb of a Sheikh which could use some repair-work and is located on top of a hill. I took pictures - they will follow!
I would so much appreciate if someone could tell me, if, what I found, existed indeed in Imwas!
While I was walking and climbing around, I thought of the people, who lived there, and how their lifes were changed - in such a horrible way - within only a few hours time! To all of them nothing but the Best - I wish, I could do much more!

I would like to thank every person who participated in building this webpage for the people of 'Imwas.
I am from 'Imwas and I was 10 year old when we were ethnically cleansed at gun point (as described in the pictures) from our 'Imwas in 1967. Since then we have never lost hope to rebuild our lives again in our village, Inshallah. I have witnessed this crime against men, women, and children which I will never forget.

Thank you for making this site. The time will come when the Western World recognises the harsh injustices inflicted on Palestinians, and unlike many other oppressed peoples in the past, their own personal accounts of these horrors will be available. The point made that the nature of the conflict would not be altered if both sides were Christian rather than Muslim/Jewish is well-taken. I'm from the Rep. of Ireland, which is now an economy-driven Western state but which has a history of colonial rule and apartheid. It is my opinion that if after Republican terrorists in the partitioned Northern-Ireland bombed British civilians, Britain was to re-occupy some of our counties and murder children, many of our people would become terrorists, even without any great extent of the suffering endured by Palestinians. I respect the makers of this site for tackling the ignorance of the West even-headedly. I do'nt think I could be so calm. God Bless.

Thank you for having this beautiful website. It really felt great to see my village before destruction. My father was so happy to see the pictures. He started showing me where he lived and worked. Thank you again.

Two years ago we had guests from Amman, Jordan - very dear friends of mine and their neighbor. My friend's mother, who couldn't make the trip due to poor health, was born and grew up in Jaffa and her biggest wish was of course for her daughter, to see the place of her origin. No question, we took her all around Yafo and sure enough, she recognized according to the stories, her mother told her, the place of a bakery, (today a movie theater replaces it, close to a bank) and some other locations and we made together the sad trip back into the past. Finally we went to the beach and all I could do, was hug her, as she stood there, crying.
With the neighbor it was different! He came from a village, which was located inside, what is today "Park Canada" (which was built on 'Imwas's reins), close to Latrun! He asked to see the place one more time. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the village and as the man died about a year and a half ago, it would be rather difficult to research that. I will try though!
The moment we reached the park-entrance, he was like electrified and directed us with an incredible sense of orientation all the way down, to he very center of the park - all of a sudden happily exclaiming, THIS would be the place of his village. Fact is, there was absolutely NOTHING left, which would even distantly resemble a place of residence, in other words - there was not one stone on the other anymore! But he was sure and nothing and nobody could convince him about anything else! He left the car and walked around among the bushes and flowers, quietly, obviously reminiscing, how it used to be. We stayed behind. Nobody talked, we just watched him. We understood without words, how important this visit was for this old man.
I think often of them. Salwa, my friend from Amman was here again and will hopefully come more often. And the neighbor - well, he finished his journey. I hope, we were able to brighten at least one of his last days - I wish, we could have done much, much more!

Congratulations on a very well-designed and clear website depicting a comprehensive summary of Palestine! It is within the intellectual reach of those who ask, but are only answered by mainstream, pro-Israeli media.

The accuracy and minute detailed illustration of each event and place helps those who are misinformed to understand the truth. I wish it were possible to show this to educate the American people instead of the grossly biased CNN, etc.

Best wishes in your future endeavors. We will do our part in passing this site on to others.

Keep up the good work and God bless,
Dr. Carol Ann George (Lebanese American)
Husam Masoud (Palestinian)
