Sign al-Sumayriyya's Guest Book - سجل الزوار

I was born in Al-Sumayriyya. During 1998 I visited Palestine to the first time. Of course I paid homage to our birth right, our beautiful village. I have seen the old Mosque and visisted the cemetry. I saw the Qanatir which is still in tact in Al-Sumariyya. It was a very emotional visit as every thing else is destroyed. I saw where our house used to be situated. Very nice area next to the main street the connects Acre with Tyre and Sidon.

Few members of the family live in Acre (Akka) which is like Saida as far as the arches and streets are concerned.

I wish our people all the patience and hope. Regards to all of you.

تلوح لنا من بعيد ،تتراءى لنا وكأنها عروس الجليل، تعيدنا للذكريات ، ذكريات نقشت في اخاديد صدورنا، فتغمر عيوننا وتسبح مخيلتنا وتذهب بعيدا هناك حيث بيارة جدي وحصاد ابي وازهار الاولاد فلا نستطيع ان ننسى ولن ننسى بلدتنا المسماة السميرية، هناك حيث ولد ابي وهناك نستطيع ان نرسم اغنية الاطفال فيبقى الحب حبا وتبقى الذكريات وتبقى السميرية هي نفسها وتبقى الاجيال

Salam, My father was born in Al-Summayria and so his father and the once before. I am the second generation living out of Palestine and I still remain believing in returning someday inshallah.

My family and I would be thankful to every one who could provide us with pictures of the remaining parts, ruins, mosque or any other structures of our Land!

HI al-Sumayriyya PEOPLE HOPE TO WRITE ME MORE DETAILS ABOUT OUR VILLAGE...

I grew up in Western Galilee in the 1970s and 1980s, and went to school in nearby Moshav Regba, located on the lands between your village and Kafr Mazra'ah, just North of al-Sumayriyya. We used to walk across the fields to the destroyed buildings of your village, and look for old coins. We knew the name of your village, but for all we knew, these ruins, and so many other ruins I knew, dated back to the Roman period. The teachers who took us there never told us. Instead, we were made to celebrate the Ben Ami brigade, that destroyed your village.
I feel ashamed on behalf of the culture I grew up in, which is all based on lies.
