If you can fast forward to 23:30 you will hear this horrible statistic: The greatest battle is against infant mortality. Only one out of five lives longer than 6 months.

This makes my spine shivers.

A remarkable old film showing the result in human suffering of miltary occupation, but it never mentioned the fact that the UN, who were pleading for contributions to the relief, were also responsible for the situation. They had helped, with USA and UK backing, set up the State of Israel. Nowhere does it mention Israel or Israels responsibility for the injustice and displacement.

As i am in a hurry and couldn't watch the video in its entirety, i would like to make the following comments:
1- it merely describes the Nakba as a "human tragedy" as if caused by a natural disaster and not ethnic cleansing.
2- it merely focusses on the relief effort and nothing else. Not on their immediate return.
3- the only positive thing is to document the state of the refugee at the onset of their displacement.

The objective should not have been to bring long term relief such as employment and schooling but to return them to their homes.

A very convincing film.Thank you. The death by disease and starvation is so cruel and sad. As the narrator said "Who is my brother's keeper? I am". Exactly right and all of us must never give up on trying to campaign to help the Palestinians.

Britain perpetuated this criminal holocaust and America is funding and keeping it up. the world as they were indifferet to the jewish suffering have done little to stop this blot on humanity , a shame. Israel has been voted as the worst state int he world. the oppressed has become a worst oppresser, worse than Nazis and the KGB of Russia. I have seen the down fall of brutal regemes and hope this will be the case for Israel and its supporters. Unfortunately in history oppressors are replaced worse oppressors. What can an individual do except write to the press ?

I believe that no one should have to live under those circumstances. Today, that still the case in that part of the world. Why? Because of greed for power and money sometimes discaysing itself as Religion. We are all sons and daughters of one God. But the world is blind by greed. Everyone deserves a chance to live a respectful life. A life with some dignity. Not live like animals without shelter

Thank you for making this highly accurate account of the Palestinian refugees after 1948. The reality of this tragedy has been kept from the world, especially from Americans. Some other great sources of reality are Edward Said's The Question of Palestine, Father Naim Stiffan Ateek's Justice and Only Justice, Ilan Pappé's The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, and Norman Finkelstein's Image and REality of the Israel-Palestine Conflict among many others. But it should be said that many of these refugees struggled valilantly to achieve education and have gone on to be doctors, lawyers, teachers, and resistance leaders. To gain acceptance by the UN, Israel p romised that the refugees would be allowed to return. Better late than never: they should be allowed to return, or UN recognition should be rescinded.

It is a touching movie about the destiny of the refugees after the disaster of 1948. It is unbelievable that they and their descendants remains today in the same hopeless situation.
