عجباً.. تراك أتيتنا من غير تذكار

لو قشة مما يرف ببيدر البلد

خبأتها بين الجناح وخفقة الكبد

لو رملة من المثلث أو ربا صفد

لو عشبة بيد ومزقة سوسن بيد

أين الهدايا مذ برحت مرابع الرغد

أم جئت مثلي بالحنين وسورة الكمد

ماذا رحيلك أيها المتشرد الباكي

عن أرض غابات الخيال وفوحها الزاكي

أم أن مرج الزهر أصبح قفر أشواك

وتلوّنت أنهارها بنجيع سفاك

داري وفي عيني والشفتين نجواك

لا كنت نسل عروبتي إن كنت أنساك.
