Hello All, My name is Wissam Younis, I'm from Mughar El Khayt a smal town in North Palestine.I'm working and living nowadays in UAE.

اتوجة اليكم بالسلام و التحية بالحقيقة لقد قرات فى سجل الزوار و قد ازعجنى البعض في كلامهم واسلوبهم وهناك من يستخدم اسماء اشخاص و عائلات و يكتب باسمهم ليسيء اليهم ارجو منكم اخوانى ان نجعل هدة الصفحة نظيفة خالية من كل الالفاظ السيءة والحديث عن ثراء العائلات و حجمها و كان قريتنا كاليفورنيا و الناس ما كان عندها ورق حمام و قريتنا مع حبى و احترامى هى صغيرة ففى عام 1948 كان عدد افرادها 490 فردا فلو كانت مغر الخيط عائلة واحدة تسكنها لكانت 490 فردا فما بالكم باكثر من عشر عائلات فى القرية فهى مثل حى صغير فى صفورى لوبية او او مثلا .رجائى ان نجعل هدا الموقع موقع تلاقى و ان نعطى صورة جميلة و نتعالى عن السخافات والمهزلة .رحم اللة كل موتانا واجدادنا اللدين عاشوا فيها لانهم كانو طيبين بسطاء و قد عايشت واحدا منهم هو المرحوم جدى محمد البقاعى المكحل الدى كان يعرف الكثيرو كان ركنا من اركان القريةكتب اللة لنا العودة جميعا انشااللة

اتمنى ان نكون متعاونين وان نقوم على كتابة تاريخ قريتنا بعيدا عن العصبيات والعمل على وضع شجرة عائلة لكل عائلة من عائلات قريتنا فهذه فرصة وقبل فوات الاوان لان هناك كبار السن كانوا هناك للتوثيق فقط ونتعاون بكل ما به فائدة لحق العودة فاذا لم تكن على عهدنا فلا بد الا ان تكون على عهد اولادنا والاجيال القادمة فالتاريخ لا يرحم واقترح ايضا ان نعمل على موقع الكتروني يخص قريتنا وان يكون فيه كل الاخبار الخاصة بابناء قريتنا لكي لا ننسى للتواصل دائما فيما بيننا ونتعرف على بعضناولا اخفي علما بان معظم الشباب لا اعرفهم فاتمنى التواصل دائما.

to who ever is in charge of the oral history, i have heard very interesting stories about Mughr el-khait from my father (Atef Alchayati) who was born in 1937. stories like finding golden statues in caves, and people barried vertically in the walls of some caves, and finding some thing that looked like giant steps while trying to dig bases to build a house, another story was finding a jar of powdered gold in a cave, not knowing what it is, my great grandfather mixed it with mud and used it to build his ceiling. If any of these findings were left, they must have got looted by the Zionists. if you can record some of those stories our history wont be forever lost.

Mughr al-Khayt
Palmach units shelled Mughr al-Khayt with mortars during the night of 2 May 1948. The attack, resulting in the evacuation of the village along with two others (Fir'im and Qabba'a) similarly targeted during the same night. The site is overgrown with grass and cactuses and littered with stone rubble from destroyed houses. Of the hundreds of olive trees that once grew there, only a few remain. The mountainous land around the site is mostly wooded or used by Israelis as pasture.
