I am a Palestinian immigrant in New Zealand.
for the time being i am trying to group the Palestinians of Auckland city under one social gathering-NAZMI;THE PALESTINIAN FAMILY-AUCKLAND.
I trying to do it alone because the last society of ours that i had the honour to create with some brothers had been frozen due to religion and fear of some that are dreaming of going back to Jordon to lodly say we are palestinians.
i will be in contact to make use of your knowledge.
you are the palestinians.
salam ya sahbee.
I love Tarshiha too much and all who like it,mainly it is our lovely village really I do not know it ,only in photos but you should imagine how much I like to be there .
Iam the son of Abdul Wahab Ahmad Moustafa (رحمه الله ) who is the first one who wrote a book about Tarshiha .Meanwhile Iam awaiting any information about Tarshiha to update my fathers book ,that Iam going to make the second edition of that book .
With all my best regards.
Ahmad Moustafa
children, they will never forget Tarshiha and all the Tarashha. To keep our home town on our minds pick up one of the lovely pictures of Tarshiha and select it to be shown on the back ground of your computer screen. Salam to all Palestinians, May Allah Be with you all.

My name is Khalid Khalil. I'm half Tarshihani (from my mother)and half souhmani (long life to Souhmata). My grand father is Assad KADDOURA. Currently, I live in France, married with the daughter of Darwish Balkis our great teacher and I have 4 kids. I came to France in 1980 directly from Borj El Barajneh. This site is a very great idea. This is not surprising, as the Tarash'ha have always great ideas.

How are you ?
And how is life treating you?

Dear ......:
Warmest greetings to Tarshiha, our usurped paradise, and heartfelt kisses mixed with agonizing tears to every single bird, tree, stone and drop of water in Tarshiha. How is the air? How is the earth? We do miss all such things of which we have been cruelly, unjustly and mercilessly deprived. We all have one single dream: to go back to the land we love, to the land whose earth was mixed with our fathers' and gradfathers' sweat and blood. I am sure you will excuse the overflow of my emotions on receiving your email. I can hardly believe that my words will breathe the air of Tarshiha and reach the eyes and ears of true Arab Tarshihanis, whom we love next to almighty God.
Burhan, Iyad and I do thank you for your initiative, which did fill us with rapturous delight. In fact we do feel extremely sorry for our late father, who, like all other Palestinian fathers, passed away yearning for Tarshiha and dreaming of going back to it. Tarshiha is deeply engraved in our hearts. Poor souls! What fault did they make to be so cruelly punished?
We, the sons and daughters of the late Kamel Fahd Shreih, live in Damascus, and, like all other Palestinians, we lead a life of dignity among our Syrian brothers who share us our love to Palestine.
Again I am sure you will forgive my expressing my feelings towards Tarshiha. I still feel I must say more and more. However, my brothers, all Tarshihanis here, and I give you our sincerest thanks for your initiative. I feel confident I will hear from you again, and I will appreciate your giving our warmest regards to every Arab Tarshihani.
Thank you again, and best regards.
Sincerely,
Salim
My father also has told me stories of those terrible days in 1948. He tells me of a midnight trip through the orchid, where he saw his neighbors hanging from the trees. He told me of his aunt Jamili who was killed when she ran to protect him from falling concrete rocks. The falling concrete would have killed my father as he played soccer in the streets.
I think it is terrible to see that the Israelis destroyed half of Tarshiha back then in order to build settlements, and to this day all that is there is rubble. People's homes were destroyed for NOTHING. Very inhumane.
However, from what I have seen and been taught by my father, Tarshiha is not a villiage of vengeful people. Everyone seems very peaceful, and there has not been many problems as a result. Besides a few Katusha missles crashing in from time to time. I will scan some pictures and post them soon.
To all: believe in peace and living with honor.
Having been encouraged by you to write, I wish to make the following correction:
In Tarshiha "Town Statistics and Facts", the date Tarshiha was occupied by the Zionists is incorrect. The correct date of actual occupation is 1st December, 1948. In the afternoon of 29th November, 1948, the Zionist enemy began to shell and bomb Tarshiha. I still remember planes dropping barrels of explosives upon Tarshiha, and it was on that day that Fatmeh Al-Hawari (see CNN Report: Bombing Tarshiha in 1948) was paralyzed when Abie Nathan bombed the family house and killed and wounded several people. Among those who were killed by the bombing was Su'ad Ali Darwish Shreih and her 4-month old son Mohammad Kamel Mahmoud Al-Hawari, both of whom were found completely burnt with the mother still embracing her child. Besides planes bombing Tarshiha, we heard loud explosions of cannon shells. We thought at the time that the Syrians were beginning to shell Qal'et (citadel) Jeddin, but we soon discovered that it was a comprehensive attack waged by the Jews. On that very day, the greater majority of the population of Tarshiha headed on foot through mountains towards Rmeish, a border village in South Lebanon, which we reached before noon on 30th November. Tarshihani militants and a group of the Salvation Army, equipped with age-old rusty rifles, stayed behind to defend the town. The Jews did not dare to enter Tarshiha until December
1st, 1948, the actual date of Tarshiha's fall and occupation. I just wanted to correct a date I still remember and to give a short account of a day I will never forget.
Many thanks for everything you do in support of the Palestinian cause.
