omar mokhtar street in gaza taken from west to east. photo must be after 1925 since the minaret here has 4 tiers. prior to the minaret's distruction in ww1 due to british bombardment the minaret had only 3 tiers. the mosque and minaret were rebuilt 1925 by the supreme muslim council through funds secured by hajj said al shawwa from saudi arabia mainly. haj said al shawwa personally oversaw the rebuilding process daily.
