The Park with the Plaque of Names Next to the Mosque The park directly bordering the Wadi Hunayn mosque (now Geulat Yisrael synagogue at 20 Sokolov Street) is Gan HaGiborim (גן הגיבורים – "Heroes' Park"), located at the corner of Sokolov Street and Weizmann Street (Weizmann 8).

The Ness Ziona Fallen Soldiers Memorial (Andarta LeBanei Ha'Ir Shenafalu):

Established in 1962, this is the official municipal war memorial. The stone wall bears the engraved names of Haganah fighters and Israeli soldiers from Ness Ziona who fell during the 1948 War of Independence / Nakba, as well as casualties from subsequent Arab-Israeli wars. A captured Soviet/Egyptian artillery cannon taken during the 1956 Suez Campaign is mounted directly beside it.

The WWII Jewish Fighters Monument:

A secondary plaque inside the park commemorates Jewish volunteers and soldiers who served in Allied armies fighting Nazi Germany. Keep in mind that the yishuv avoided fighting the Nazis to the bitter end. They saw little action at the war's end.

From an archival standpoint, this site presents a stark spatial juxtaposition: the 1934 village mosque--its minaret removed and its prayer hall converted into a synagogue--sits directly adjacent to a memorial wall honoring the soldiers who conquered the village and displaced its population in 1948.
