Town's name through history
The Old Testament referred to Abu Shusha by the City of Gezer, the Romans called it Gazara, and the Crusades known it by Mont Gisart.

An elementary school for boys which was founded in 1947, and it had an initial enrollment of 33 boys.

According to the Palestinian historian Walid Khalidi no remaining structures on the village are still standing. Currently, village land is being farmed by the neighboring Jewish settlements.
