Salama was mostly destroyed with the exception of ten houses and the village schools. Some of the houses belongs to Muhammad Salih, Mustafa Abu Najm, Abu Jarada, Abu 'Amasha, Muhammad al-Hawtari, Abu 'Asba, Sha'ban al-Naji, and al-'Arbid.

Town's name through history Salama was named after Salma Ibn Hashim (prophet Mohammad companion) whose tomb is still standing.
Schools Salama had two schools: the 1st was a junior high for boys founded in 1920 and it had an enrollment of 504 boys in 1945; the 2nd school was for girls founded in 1936 and in 1945 it had an enrollment of 121 girls.
Religious institutions One mosque which is still standing.
