Since the website was launched on July 1st, 2000, its popularity has exceeded
our expectations. For example, the site receives an average of 14,000 page views
a day, and its size has grown from 25 MB to 600MB in four years. In a nutshell,
we owe the site's success to your persistent effort to enrich it with your
stories, pictures, and monitory donations.
We are proud to inform you that the site has become THE PRIMARY source about
Nakba amongst Palestinian refugees, journalists, and historians. Ironically, the
website is also as popular with Israelis as well! For the people who might
not know, Nakba is the Arabic word for the Catastrophe that came upon the
Palestinian people in 1948
Over the past two years, we have made many upgrades to the website, and we would
like to share with you few of them as follows:
1) Oral History
Launched al-Nakba's Oral History a year and a half ago. This project aims to
document and retain the Palestinian refugees' experience and memories before,
during and after al-Nakba. Live interviews have been conducted with the refugees
who witnessed al-Nakba at the age of 12 years and above. To learn more about
this project, please click below:

To view a listing of the interviews conducted so far (almost 90 interviews to
this date), click below:

Note: each listed interview could be securely ordered online.
Currently, this project consumes 90% of our budget and efforts. We have a
limited budget, and it is important to keep the project running and to expand
its scope. Therefore, your donation, no matter how little it may be, is
critical. You may make your secure online donation by clicking at the link
below:

Please do not hesitate to email us the contact information of people whom you
think would be good candidates, especially in Jordan where the first phase is
being executed.
2) Maps
We have revamped the website's maps section. Specifically, we have added two
IMPORTANT new maps that depict the destruction of Palestine during and after
al-Nakba. Special thanks to Dr. Salman Abu Sitta for his contribution. Click

NOTE: each of these maps could be ordered online for ONLY $7.00 (including
the shipping cost).
3) Zionist FAQ and Zionist Quotes
We have proofread and edited the Zionist Frequently Asked Questions and
Zionist Quotes sections. Special thanks to Mark Kober-Smith, an anti-Zionist
British Jew, for making an incredible effort over a six month period. With
Mark's help, these two online books have become very popular resources on the
internet to counter the prevalent Israeli propaganda, especially amongst
Israelis and Americans. Click below if you wish to learn more:

4) Makbula Nassar
An active website member, Makbula Nassar a Palestinian who lives in Nazareth-Palestine, has made an incredible effort to visit many of your villages and cities in the Acre, Safad, Tiberias, Jaffa, and Haifa districts. Over a six month period, she shared almost six hundred pictures with the website. We very much appreciate this incredible personal effort.
5) Links to NakbaInHebrew.org
In Collaboration with NakbaInHebrew.org, we have linked each listed village at PalestineRemembered.com to its corresponding one at NakbaInHebrew.org, click here for a sample.
We greatly appreciate your involvement at PalestineRemembered.com.
Our DATE is 56 years LATE, we shall return Inchallah.
