Jerusalem has always been at the center of our native Palestinian inhabitants going back five thousand years. The Jebusites (Canaanites) around 3,000 B.C. dwelt on and built the city they called Ur-Salem (Jerusalem), a Canaanite word meaning the house of Salem, the chieftain of the clan of Jebusites.
So Jerusalem was built by the Palestinians for the Palestinians, and it will stay a Palestinian city 4 ever.

I was so glad to see that there are people like yourselves who are ready to give everything for palestine, keep it this way and we shall never die or forgotton. The whole world will witness the birth of free Palestine inshaa" alla with Jerusalem is the capital as long as their is intifada, people remembered and work for Palestine this will happen soon.

We will be back home in Palestine were we belong one day. We belong there and our roots are there. I really hope that we can establish our own independent democratic state very soon becuase how much longer can we continue to wait for that day to come. We are so different to everyone else in this issue and it is so sad and because of our circumstances, sometimes we are deprived of the so many priveleges out there that other nations enjoy. We want to be free of occupation.

If the Palestinians are the majority of the population in the territories controlled by Israel, and the US government says they are, then why is Israel not labelled an Apartheid regime? The Palestinian majority is denied equality.
When will UN impose sanction on the Israeli Partheid regime? When will the international community pressure Israel to give Palestinians their equal right in their country of birth?

I was pleased actually to see the picture of that old man on Palestine Rememembered holding his house's keys with a smile all over his face .. after what he went through from all the sufferring, living in refugee camps all of his life, struggling to show the world what he is fighting for.. with a simple key he is able to show the whole world that no matter what happen, no matter how much he lost, he is still a live and wants his home back.

A simple picture with deep meanings. We Palestenians are like an old olive tree, we'll never die,, we might get old , but our roots are so deep that no force in the whole world could make us give up our rights.

To Palestine;
To Yaser Arafat;
To every Palestinian;
One day we will be back;
One day we will be hand in hand in Jerusalem;
One day we will be free and have our own PALESTINE;
God willing this day will come no matter what,no matter when;

The Young Will Never Forget Palestine

As Palestinians Forgetting is the least for us to worry,
One day Zionist Israelis have to feel guilty and sorry,
They can Kill and Torture but cant Assassinate our Memory.

Another day they will realize that, and have frankly to admit,
That Palestinian Young Generation will never forgive nor forget.
How can a person without his Heart and Soul stay on earth living?
Palestine is our Heart, and Love; it is our God blessed giving.
How can a child forget Scenes of Blood and Screams of Crying?
Scenes of his family members killed in front of his eyes coldly dying.
Such Criminal Behavior helped our children painfully remember,
Awakened in them memory of your unlimited Massacres in number.

Needless to say how we breastfed our children Palestine؟s Love,
And this comes first to them and stands before all and high above.
The Sacred Love of Our Homeland is naturally with them born,
Seeing their families, houses and country by force taken and torn.
That Love which you will never be able to understand,
Because you don؟t have such feelings but those of a gang and band.
Our grand children are well equipped with such memories,
And again assure you that Forgetting has no place in our Diaries.
Aggressors we ARE NOT and never been, but Victims sure we Are,
By Force Took our Land and blindly killing led by a Mass Killer star.

The Truth is Crystal Clear to the Whole World here and there,
We Wonder Why does the World Back them and of them take care?
We called for PEACE &FAIR JUSTICE but they were always Deaf,
Also they were Senseless like a Hard Rock in a Mountain Cliff.
Again the Whole World Neglected our Continuous PEACE Call,
And Helped The Aggressor Zionists to remain Criminals after all.

In this 57th year of Al-Nakba i want to share this sad memory with the Palestinian people since the Palestinian issue concerns me as well as all arabs.
Being a Lebanese guy I know what is Israeli occupation, a part of our land had been occupied ny israelis for 22 years...but thanks to our brave resistance we managed to kick them out...
I hope that the Palestinian people keep his faith in his land and continue to struggle until they get their rights...

nice, you really made me thinkin. i'm israeli and i do believe that a palestine country should be established in the west bank. the kind of country Jordan and Egypt should have let you establish between 1948-1967. Was there an Intifada against them? a hungry man will eat almost everything, the Jews in Israel in 1947 were really poor for agreeing to establish a country on less than half of the country, the palestinian didn't, they till don't. so let me ask you: do you really need a country no matter what cause the israeli occupation suffocates you, or can you wait for the right proposal. i, as a left-wing young zionist-israeli, hope you'll have a country as soon as possible, i guess Arafat didn't find it that urgent...

I am a young white European man who's eye's have been truly opened to the atrocities suffered by the Palestinian people. I think that the message of truth is gradually starting to be seen in my country (England) by the people as a whole. It is the cowardly support of Israel's policy of murder by the U.S.A. that is the cause of the majority of the regions problems. I don't see an immediate solution, well not while the war mongerer George Bush jnr is in power, but let us hope that a solution will one day soon come and bring peace to the Palestinian people, and indeed the whole of the Middle East. Peace be with you, Rob.

Hi Miller,

you are absolutly right. I think it time to sue the israeli government for reparation on the palestian citizen. The might problem would be the coordination. I think it is time to do something instead of writing ".... see you there in shah Allah". Sorry for my harsh words, but take a look at them, they have been successful in charging against the german companies, where they had to work during the nazism.
The problem that I already faced was to get more information about land registration entries. I contacted the british embassy in germany and they told me, that they can not assist me in that matter and that I have to contact the UNO. I did that nearly one year ago but without getting any answer on my request.
Best regards from germany

The only way to resolve the suffering of our peoples is a Bi-National state. One man, one vote.
We are 52% of the population and our % is growing. We will recover political power in our beloved Palestina through the ballot box. We will win any democratic elections. Long live Democracy!

Isreal, give us Democracy and the right to vote! Why do you deny us our human right to vote in our land? Do you fear Democracy, Isreal?

One man, one vote! This must be our new slogan.

hello everybody!
I find your side vey interesting and very well documented too. I wish I could read arabic to read the poems in their original language. Just a detail where I do not agree: when you write that ALL the trends of the Zionist movement supported the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, when they did not totally ignore the problem, I think that you're wrong. I read recently a very interesting book by the german philosopher Martin Buber, "Ein Land und zwei Vِlker" ("One land and two peoples"; I hope it has been translated in English). Buber was a sincere zionist since the beginning of the XXth century, but he spent his life trying to convince his fellow-militants that the Arabs had the right to stay where they lived and that a cohabitation, and finally a bi-national state, was possible. He was very anti-miltarist and thought it obscene to build this state with blood (as Michaia the prophet says. Unfortunately, he had much less influence than Ben Gurion or Weizmann, who did not find war immoral. After the nakbah, Buber also tried to speak in favour of the refugees to give them the right of return. He was much more of a spiritual man than of a political man and that's why his utopia could not be heard. I hope it will in a close future if we dare listen to him again!
All the best

It is far from our Eden that we live now, just like a fish deprived from water. But we resist, and we survive hoping that someday we'll all meet in our beloved Palestine. Our land is our dignity, and as long as our dignity is in Zionist hands, we will struggle till our end, till the end of injustice and occupation, till we get back our freedom and our homes, till we return...

According to the US government, the Israelis are a minority in historical Palestine. Palestinians and other non-Israelis should demand their lawful equal rights as the majority of the population of the land.

It is the same as in South Africa, where an Apartheid regime ruled over the majority of the population.

End Israeli Apartheid now; free the majority of the population. One person, one vote!

Palistine,as i understand it had a 93% population compared to
isrealis 7% how did it get to the point were the zionists thought they had a god given right to take over palistine for
the (Children of isreal)it was'nt there country to begin with and i can not understand why the english and americans
could sit by and actually help the zionist regime into power
im only a kid and dont understand much of all this but i know wrong when i see it,and wheather they intended to or not, isreals allies have inadvertently brught about the destruction of a people and its beloved nation.

As'salam w'alaikum...Bis'millah. It's been quite some time since i've added an entry here. No better time then now i suppose. I just want to know what is going on these days?! Have people forgot about our leader? Yes...I am referring to Yasser Arafat, Abu Amar. Before I proceed, I just want to point out that, no, he wasn't the best leader, nor was he a very good leader, but, he was OUR leader. It was because of him, the worlds eyes opened slightly to the Palestinian struggle. He put Palestine on the maps. I can't help but feel that many people have forgotten him in these so called renewed peace talks. I am ashamed to be honest with you. Have we become like the rest of the world and forgotten all the bloodshed, the humiliation, the occupation, the degredation. Open your eyes! No matter who, what, where, or when, these supposed leaders make OUR decision...we will never settle for anything less then an ENTIRE Palestine. Jerusalem as OUR capital.

Hi to all. Great website...I'm a Palestinian from 1948. My grandparents left their home in Palestine in 1948 as they were forced to do so by the Israeli army. It's true it's under Israeli sovereinty and is now considered part of Israel but it is still part of Palestinian land to us. Inspite of the aging and thorny conflict, I hope peace and prosperity can come about very soon and that we can return back to our home.

Salam All:
December 23, 2004 I was hosted on the so called Israel National radio by a phone call from California. in which I asked the Moderator a Question about the Palestinians rights and their right to get their stolen land back if they have ownership papers of the land(KUSHAN), and for a while he tried to run away from my question and then answered it by saying ؟ the Palestinians has No rights؟
It is our duty as Palestinians to show those Zionist that we have a land and we will get it back. It is not enough for us just to say these words, I think it is the time to start doing , we need to start to Do 4 Palestine in order for us to get it back,
Palestine 4 ever,

Your site is an excellent data base that answers honestly and factually all relevant questions about the Palestine/Zionist conflict .It leaves little doubt in the mind of the well intentioned as to the "RIGHT" and "WRONG" of both parties about the issue . It presents objectively and accurately the intrinsic nature of Zionism/Israel as an Alien, Aggressive and Racist creed /nation-state.

Zionism/Israel has managed to transform this regional conflict into an Arab/Moslem( third world) -Judeo/Christian( first world) confrontation that can, historically and in the long run, end in only one way:
-The disengagement of the Christian West from the Zionist cause
-The increased alienation of the Zionist cause world wide that will, unfortunately, reflect negatively on all Jews ;Zionists, nonZionists and anti Zionist alike.
-The ultimate triumph of anti racism and the rejection of the alien body /doctrine ; Zionist Israel...at a huge cost to all involved for generations to come!

Shouldn't our media also be targeted and directed to the Western world since not many of them are not excatly aware of what is happening in our country. Many of them do not know much about who Palestinians are and many of them are baised by what they see and hear on the media. They just know there is violence and bloddshed occuring in our country and that there are the so called terrorists who are opposed to peace between us and Israel. It saddens me to hear this and I do not believe we are doing everything in our power to correct this baised and negative perception of us(Palestinians) in the Western world. If anything we are not opposed to peace in our region. We welcome such an opportunity any time but our essential rights to life and freedom are also a must and much of what is claimed to be disputed land continues to be occupied on the part of Israel. It is in fact occupied land.

Hello Palestinians!

Just found your site by accident. I must say that you have a wrong impression that all Jews back the Zionist Govt of Israel. Nothing could be further from the truth!
Take a look: http://www.nkusa.org/activities/press/nyc011101.cfm

As you can see many Jews agree with you and are not your enemies. Real Judaism rejects Zionism.

Let peace come between our peoples.

Hello, I am American. And I have great sympathy for the Palestinians. I think the US foreign policy by supporting and arming Israel with so much military aid and money,is awful, biased, wrong and racist. Please know that many Americans feel this way and wish we had some way to stop the aid to Israel.

Hi. I am from Nazareth.I have never been there b4 but I would like to very much. My grandfather who was their until 1948 tells us so many stories about Palestine. It is unfortunate that so many of us have not seen home (Palestine). I hope that we can have an independant state of our own very soon.
I would just like to say that hopefully the new presidential elections will mark a new and prosperous chapter for all palestinians in 2005 and create true democracy for us.I know it seems far from impossible especially since Israel is unwilling to change its policies towards us or compromise fairly with us. However, we should continue to be positivce in life and hope for the best. We should try to help our people in every way especially by raising funds or individually donating money to those who need it and rebuilding their institutions.
We are always with you!!!

By the way does anyone know a website that contains posters, postcards and other accessories about Palestine that can be purchased?

؟.And then .. we heard that the Zionist invaded Palestine ,, they destroyed whatever city they passed by , they raped ,they stool and looted whomever stayed in the land of AL- ramlah ؟ my dad once said,,, so we had no choice but to abandon our land,, we had no time to even take food or cloth with us ,, we just fled the town fearing to be killed.. we had no means of transportation but our feet ؟ many died on the way, and some were eaten by Hyenas, and then we arrived to Alkarameh ؟A Jordanian city on the borders of Palestine؟ ؟ ؟Ali Hasan Al-Ziq, a man who lost his House, Farm, land and two of his beloved daughters is a living example of the inhuman treatment to the Palestinians people.

A really great and informative website. I have never been to Palestine, however, my father is from Yaffa, and since he was expelled from Palestine in 1948, he has not been back since. My father often tells me stories of his childhood in Palestine, and how wonderful life was like in that beautiful port city.

I printed your English flyer and made over 100 copies of it and posted it all over my university campus. Hopefully people will take notice and sympathize with the plight of the Palestinian people, a plight that has been downsized in the Western media.

Once again, thank you for this great website, I've went through every inch of this website and I feel much more educated about the subject, and more determined than ever.

A Chance To Survive

We have no other choice but to die or live
On this earth, only on our dearest homeland
We believe in the wisdom that says take and give
Here we were born and here we firmly stand
We generously gave and have no more left to give
Look at the Israelis demolishing our houses and killing
daily an innocent civilian crowd
People why do you want us all to be buried under the ground?
That was unfair biased solution you offered and for us found.

Our people let us get united and stand up all together
Dears, remember that Palestine is our first faithful mother
We were on this holy land thousand years before we were born
We don؟t want to see it lost neither divided nor severely torn
It is healthy to practice democracy with a fruitful decision
This may help and lead to save the country and keep the vision
Palestinians want to defend and save their homeland after all
Just and Fair Peace with Security, like all other nations, is our Final Goal
Palestinians deserve to be given a true and real chance to Survive And save their Country or keep the Palestinian Cause Alive.

Hi everyone. I'm just a white catholic-born atheist from the USA so I don't claim an intimate knowledge of the plight of the Palestinian people but I have spent some nights crying about what I've read about the suffering of the Palestinian people. It is a shame that not only is this outright oppression happening, but it is being actively endorsed and sponsored by the United States, a country with more power than we deserve. I would love to change the way our government approaches what's happening in the world on so may levels but it's hard when more than half the population believes God wants the land that truly belongs to the Palestinians in the hands of the illegal and violent Zionist occupation. What can I do to change this? I would love some suggestions. The republican/conservative party is pro-zionist for reasons of faith - they're christian zealots and think the Jews need to occupy that land for Jesus to come back to earth and bring them to heaven. The democratic party is so deeply tied to the Jewish power structure in America that they will never take a stand against Israel. We do have people like Ralph Nader and Noam Chomsky attempting to shed some unbiased light on the subject but they are ridiculed regularly by the mass media and by the mainstream of America that is racist towards Arabs in general, and especially Palestinians.

I really just wanted to put my opinuion here to show that there are some of us in America who realize the truth about what's happening in this world and don't buy the pro-Israeli propaganda that we are force-fed almost every day.

I wish only the best for the Palestinian people and will promise to support their cause in whatever way I can until the day I die.

Dear Itai Horwitz,

I am from Majdal Yaba, Majdal Sadeq as we like to call it, or Migdal Tsedek (Tzedek, Zedek) as others like to call it. My parents and grandparents are still very much alive and kicking. We all look forward to the day we will be back there.

My father used to tell me many stories about Ras Al-Ain. My step grandfather was working in Mulabbas on the road between Majdal Yaba and Ras Al-Ain, his employer was a jew.

My father's uncle recalls when a small british military plane crashed near his field next to Ras Al-Ain, and how he tried to rescue the pilot in vein.

My grandfather was working in the quarries of Majdal Yaba before he was fired on 1936 at the Histadrut's insistence by a jewish employer read more about it at: http://www.marxist.com/MiddleEast/arab_jewish_struggles2.html

Jewish poets wrote about this area, check this :
http://www.ithl.org.il/amichai/poem4.html

And jewish environmentalists : http://www.hansonplc.com/managed_content/sub_sites/env_reports/2001/case_study4.htm

There was a rail station that my father and his friends were playing around it, and they were swimming at the Auja (Yarkon) rever.

As an architect & a guitarist, I assume that you would be more interested in landscape & archealogy of the place rather than politics. You can visit Majdal Yaba's site where you can find few links there http://www.palestineremembered.com/al-Ramla/Majdal-Yaba/index.html

You can make a search over the internet using the keywords mentioned herein, you will find many references like this one: http://www.bibleplaces.com/aphek.htm

Or you can contact one of the elders who knew the place like Prof. Ruth Enis http://www.ccrs.technion.ac.il/cv/Enis_cv1.htm but finding Arabs near you who would cooperate with you would be very difficult those days.

I would apprecaite it if you can send me the map with Arabic names you mentioned in your contribution.

All the best in your study

Hi I am Palestenian. Half Palestinian, half Greek. Although i have never seen my true homeland, Palestine, i wish to truly end up there one day. Every Palestinian should feel proud to have roots in this land. I have heard so many stories from my grandparents and other family relatives about life there before 1948. It is tuly sad to learn how well off people were back then and how happy they were back then and then learn today that they are living the exact opposite. It's a shame.
I hope God can put an end to our people's suffering and agony of almost 60 years now. Have we not suffered enough.

Hello!
I write this with some anxiety- some might think it not proper for an Israeli to write here. But I hope that you read on and you will see that I am respectful to your feelings, and maybe I can even be of some assistance.
I am a graduate student, and my thesis deals with the town of Rosh Ha؟ayin. It is near Ras El Ein, between the destroyed village of Majdal Yaba and the existing Kafr Kasem. In my thesis I want to explore the identity of the place, it؟s everyday stories and character- from all periods and all populations. I hope to give evidence to the story of the place, even including the British soldiers that were in an army base there 1941-1948. So the Palestinian stories also interest me, in very specific location of the present town, a bit to the north of Majdal Yaba.
I am looking for memories and information of these places. They probably belonged to people from Majdal Yaba.
I have a map from 1929 that has names in Arabic (written in English) that I could e-mail to anyone that think they might know something, or have a member of the family to ask. If anyone knows of people from Majdal Yaba living in Israel (maybe in Kafr Kasem) I can try to ask them.

May we all have peace and comfort for our sorrows,
Itai Horwitz, Tel Aviv

Yasser Arafat was a freedom fighter and not a terrorist. He fought for the just cause of an oppressed Palestinian people.May God rest his soul in peace. He did not live to see his dream come true but god-willing we will make this vision a reality. We want an independant and democratic Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. That will be the most glorious moment in history for us as Palestinians.
