This conflict could exist anywhere in the world. We all are born into different nations which inevitably play a major part in shaping our perspectives, political or other. America, having fallen prey to terrorism and held a military campaign in Afghanistan, generally is biased towards the Israelis. Ireland, having herself been chronicly colinised, understands the feeling of hopeless entrappment experienced by Palestinians. In a perfect world, we might listen to each-other. In reality however, America is the most powerful country in the world and Ireland is a little speck most of you have never even heard of. Thus, we see a great imbalance in the western media. We see coverage of suicide attacks in Israel and all of us think 'if that was my family..' But when we see tanks moving in to Palestinian villages some of us perhaps think 'worth it to defeat terrorism' PLEASE you can not label Palestinians as terrorists for killing innocent people yet allow Israelis to kill innocent people simply because they have an official military. Being shot by an Israeli soldier is just as much of a tragedy as being blown up in a suicide attack. I do not believe in the 'War on Terror' because war IS terror. Colonialism IS an act of War, whether it be carried out by tanks to get the job done quickly or (hypothetically) by flimsy weapons neccessitating the murder of every man, woman and child, for the area to be successfully taken. Should we be grateful then that Israel has such military power to avoid such bloodshed?; Perhaps we should be mourning the fact that that Palestine has not.........Think about it, might is not always right.

I can only keep you in my du'a and ask that Allah SWT grant victory to you and destroy the Zionist pigs. As I understand the Palestinian claims, they are summed up, and greatly simplified, by this statement: The Israeli government practices dispossession of the native Arabic population, using policies of political and military aggression, justified by claims of self defense. The American government supports Israel implicitly by not acting to restrain Israel, and explicitly because of the sale of military equipment.

I did not want to believe these claims, just like most of my fellow Americans. But life is not always about what we want.

I heard the so called 'arguments' against the Palestinian claims one too many times. Instead of offering solid arguments, the politicians, media, and right-wing religious groups repeat the same logical fallacies designed to distract from the real issue. The most common fallacy perpetuated is the one that says: because of some fault of the Palestinians, they can't possibly have a legitimate grievance.

Any American can get educated about Israel and the Occupation. Put aside emotion and sentimentality and get the entire story. A person's sense of justice and reason does not need to rest on the colors of a flag.

I feel intense frustration and anger that my tax money helps support the killing, dispossession, and destruction of a people. But anyone in America can attend a demonstration or write a letter. I was just an average guy. Now I go to demonstrations, and write letters to politicians and newspapers. Every voice counts because you influence everyone you interact with.

End the Occupation!

As an introducion, let me identify myself; my father was born in Palestine in l908 and I am proud to call myself an American Palestinian.
I live in northern California and practice criminal defense in Marin County.
I applied for my first passport this week and proudly presented my birth certificate which lists my father's birthplace as Palestine.
I've never been there; I wish now that I had gone with my dad when I was a young girl.
He was born in Beit Hanina (I know now that beit just means town or city) but I would love information about this area from oldtimers who might know.
I can still recall my dad's hopes for resolution when Nasser was president of Egypt and how he helped to raise funds for Arafat in the late '60's.
I am feeling so sad these days; I am glad that my daddy did not live long enough to witness this latest tragedy. He raised me not to hate; would tell me about his childhood when Arabs and Jews lived side by side. We have fig trees in our yard and every summer when they come, I know my daddy is watching over us. Oh, how he loved those trees.
Hope someone can give me more information about this area....

Well, I'm not a muslim (Persian) and when I see the conflict between Palestania-Israel, it makes me so frustrated to see how innocent Palestinians die because of Israelian offence.
I don't have anything against Jews, but it's their military I'm pissed of at. Last but not least Ariel Sharon (Devil himself). This is a conflict that has been going on for many years, and will still continue until the Paletinians have reclaimed their land.
And for U.S to say that they are the World Police, then act as one!
Make the situation better by FORCING Israelian soldiers to turn back, and after that there might still be hope to making good results out of the peaceprocess.

I can't beleive still the people don't understand what's going on ,the isreali holocausts & massacres agaist the palestinian civilians it's alot and the list below it can show you that :
1)Jerusalem holocaust in 1932 dead 32 & injured 167.
2)Yafa holocaust ( vegetable market) in 1938 dead 99 & injured 82.
3) yafa holocaust in 1938 dead 23 & injured 30.
4) Tel aviv holocaust 1947 dead 12.
All of this it happened before hetler holocaust as what the isreali said .
And what is hidden is more magnificent & bigger than we ever know,and this is without thousands of palestinians arrested in the zionist prisons,facing torture by the hands of tyranny.

Although, it is not my place to say who is right and who is wrong. I think both sides in this conflict have valid arguments and could be seen to be "right". I think the conflict is heated to be resolved any time soon. There has been so much blood spilled on both sides. I would like to see a free Palestine and a non-oppressive Israel in my lifetime. America should not support Israelis terror nor should America abandon Israel in a region of hostiles. Or, maybe America should step back and let other nations deal with their problems. For all misguided American foreign policies there have been good policies. I can only try to sympathize with the struggle for freedom.

I can't STAND the Zionist propaganda, B.S. machine, or what Israel does with it's military attacks and occupations. yet most people are under its' spell.
While I'm not religious in the slightest, I COMPLETELY support the Palestinian people, and hope that they someday get their own country and right to self-determination.
I'm lobbying my U.S. politicians to cut off ALL aid to Israel, so maybe one day the playing field can be level, and true peace can come about.

As I watch the war in Israel and Palestine escalate daily, my heart grows heavier and heavier with the biased ramblings of our media and government. Bush tells Israel to back off, not because he cares about the Palestinian people, but because he wants his war on Iraq, and needs the help of the surrounding Arab states. Then he later says that Sharon is a "man of peace". When did "men of peace" start slaughtering women and children in order to illiminate the future generations? When did war criminals become "men of peace"?? I loath the fact that I pay out of my pocket, with my tax dollars, for the Israeli occupation and genocide, as well as horrible military campaigns carried out by the US government. Justice = Free Palestine!

ur website is brillant. Being shocked @ the happenings of 9/11. It made me want to find out much more about this on-going war.
Its plain and simple - USA has taken too long to get to Palestine. If masscares of that scale happened here or US, I dont think the US would decide to go globe trotting before they got to the UK.

I have never been as religous as I should be, but I try to uphold those values that I see as essential to life and so naturally it is simply devestating to see the harrowing images of the innocent Palestinian people who are suffering at the hands of the despicable Ariel Sharon and his murderous, US funded army. When will the rest of the world wake up and remove this evil man from power? The answer is never. Why is this?? It is all due to the support that Sharon and his stolen 'state' of Israel, receive from the Government of the USA. How dare this highly corrupt Government refuse to act upon the massacres that are taking place everyday. The US and Israeli government will realise one day and they will be forced to repent for their evil actions. I do not have any argument with the American people, they should not be punished for work of their leaders, and they too have suffered in the worst way after the September 11th terrorist attacks where many many innocent people died, I just simply condemn their all powerfull and all corrupt Government. Neither do I have any disrespect for
any other religion. All those who care about their religion, be they Jewish, Christian, Muslim etc will realise that action must be taken to stop the atrocities taking place in one of the holiest places on Earth. ONE COUNTRY FOR ALL IS THE ONLY WAY OUT
Having two seperate states for Palestinians and Jews on the land of Historical Palestine is nonsense as it will definitely lead to more conflicts and more bloodshed in the future.

The most practical and lasting solution is having one state for both Palestinans and jews on the whole land. All Palestinan refugees should be given the right to return to their land and proprties which was stolen by military force in 1948.They should also be compensated for the use of such properties for more than 50 years now.

Both Palestinans and Jews should educate themselves to the idea of living together in one secular democratic state which provides all its citizens with equal rights without any descrimination.

Only then, both Palestinans and Jews can live together and cooperate to build one coutry that they both cherish and defend.

Your website is emotionally touching beyond all belief, but a stunningly beautiful memorial to our beloved Palestine nonetheless. It is also a most important historical record for the generations to come as well as powerful

Your site is wonderfully informative. It's great to find a site that gives factual info on Palestine, and counteracts the disinformation disseminated here in the West.
What can I say! Inhumane, unjustifable, deplorable.....the English language contains no words to adequately describe the atrocities which have been and, especially now, continue to be
perpetrated by Israel on the Palestinian people. My heartfelt thoughts & prayers are with you all, especially during this terrible, terrible time.
As for Israel, a supposedly "advanced, civilized democracy," [not my words] its stupidity and bankruptcy of any political policy other than illegal land-grabbing, and the subjugation, annihilation or deportation of all Palestatians is unbelievable. It hasn't the intellegence to see that it is creating the very thing it fears most ie. Suicide Martyrs. In recent history, Israel's behavior is paralleled only by Hitler's Nazis. Decent Jews everywhere should hang their heads in shame at what is, and has long been, done by their fellow co-religionists.
I end with some words on the West [where, I am ashamed to say, I am from]. For me the most dangerous political combination in today's world is America's gung-ho, barmy Bush & the egomaniacal, power-mad [but powerless without his desperate clinging to US Presidents' coat-tails] Brit PM Blair. Their indifference to Palestian suffering, and support for Israeli atrocities would be unfathomable were it not for awareness of their own self-interest.

I would first like to extend my sincerest sympathy to those who have lost loved ones in this bloody war.
I would like to raise the question of partition. Do people honestly feel that the fighting will stop if Israel retreats to its 67 borders? It seems to me that if there is a partition, there will still be injstices commited by both sides. As long as Palestinians live within Isreal or Zionists live within Palestinian lands (and in a Palestinian state, if one was made), there will be fighting.
Would it not be better to have a jointly run state with equal respresentation, with joint forces of both Palestinians and Israelis? We have seen that partition did not solve anything in Korea, Vietnam, or Palestine after the UN partition in 48.
There must be another solution.

She is a national renowned physiatrist in the US. We all know she is a Jew and proud of it (nothing wrong with that and I am happy for her too). I clearly remembered that after 911, she criticized those parents for of the suicide-bombers for educated their kids with wrong value (I don't think she is wrong on this either), but then she went on to criticize the Palestinian people and said "they should be thankful to the Israel to establish the camp to provide food and shelter for them"... Wow, just to tell you what is churning in this great scholar's peanut brain. If we have elite people like Doctor Laura in this country, then it's easily to understand what the rich Jewish money in this country has been used politically on both the government policy and the media business.

For me, I think the solution couldn't be easier. Stop using our tax-money to fund any county in the Middle East unless is for humanitarian reason. If the Jewish people in this country love to have an independent state, then they are welcome to use their own money to fund all the operations in Israel. After all, they are bloody rich, aren't they? As early as slave trading, to become the microprocessor giant, to raid poor countries' currency all over the globe؟ Jewish people got enough money to drive their dream. So please, leave our tax $ alone, live is getting harder and harder in this country, we don؟t want our hard-earned money in funding robbing other people's land and we sure don't want to die in a building like World Trade Center and don't even know what have happened before the 10-ton concrete crushed our skulls.

Since 1948, US has been pumping countless amount of taxpayers' money into the Middle East (big $ to both Israel and Egypt) to try to achieve the peaceful establishment of the Jewish-State. For those unfortunate people that have their loved ones died in the September 11 event, US government easily redirect them to the cause of "terrorism", but the reality of these people died in 911 is nothing but the continuous stubborn mistakes created by the US foreign policy. Thanks to the Internet, without it we cannot get information from site like Palestine Remembered, we here in the US just couldn't get a simple picture of what is really happening in the Middle East. You would think the US is the "free press" Mecca of the world, think again, since the most recent Palestine unrest start 18 months ago, have you heard one single word on "Zionism" on the any US TV or radios? Yes, be it CNN, FOX, or the KFI radio station here in Los Angeles. You have all these so called "experts" talking about the issues but nobody really bother (intentionally or unintentionally) to take a look at the really problem of Zionism, and we know the future events will just keep coming back and slap on the faces on the "experts", such as Henry Kissinger, left and right.

Your "unbiased" site "forgot" to mention, that when the Partition Plan was offered by the UN, the Arabs rejected it fiercely, claiming that no other nation will take "their" lands. It makes you popular, and all kinds of humanists start giving you money that you use for the killing of the children in Israeli cities (or just keep in your pockets, like the corrupt "Palestinian Authority" officials do?). It's so easy to say, that all the lands are yours, for example, Hebron (or if you want, Al-Halil) is an original Arab city, "forgetting" the reasons why the Jews were not there in the 40's: the Arab carnage, when the whole Jewish population of Hebron, that always lived there, was slaughtered. It makes people identify with the "Palestinian cause", when you "ommit" the fact, that the Jews of Sefad, Acco and many other cities and towns in 1948 begged the leaving Arabs to stay, while they packed their stuff, when the only reason to run away was a thought that the Jews will slaughter them just like they slaughtered the Jews for the decades before, helped by the Brittish. I would like to give my opinion about the conflict that's happening in Palestina.

Islam mean in arabic peace, something somebody dont know...
The real muslim are not those the media (Tv,Radio,News-paper etc..) are showing to the world. In U.S the Palestine myters are called TERRORIST and the Israely soliders are placed in heaven of "defending their homeland", and by killing men, women and children no matter how old they are. Hello,I can´t speak English very well,but I want tell all Palestinesian people,that in Europe many people (like me and the most of my friends) are against the jewish occupation.
I´am from Poland,but I live in Austria,my husband is german.We are simple people with an open mind,I think that today it´s very important not to be "cnn-ill".And there is difference between "cnn-ill" and open mind.

My thoughts and prayers are with the people in Palestine, especially for what you are going through as I write this. I want to let you know that many Americans support you. As soon as they hear the TRUTH, as opposed to what the American media and government typically say, they are amazed and very disturbed by what is happening. Hopefully people will learn that they can voice their support for Palestine and stay strong against accusations of being "anti-semitic" (a fear which keeps many Americans from speaking out). Keep the faith.

The fact that Kuwait and Jordan did those deeds have nothing to do with me being a "Zionist" or a "non-zionist". That was therefore also a meaningless statement.

Born and bred in UK, I was always under the impression - (ignorance) that arabs/muslims caused the trouble in Israel.
People like myslef, who are non-muslims, need to be educated, with the history - I just learnt from your website that Isreal never existed - it was the "kind" "humble" hearts of the palestine people that allowed these jewsish settelers to come to there country .
Can you imagne, if any of the european countries, did the same to the UK ? - just invaded and started occupying land.
Ok- Isrealis, built systems, structures, (all very western , airports, laws, houses, etc) - whilst the arabs had none of these systems in place - but it sounds like what they did have was a "peacfull" and happy way of life - they prefreed travelling on their donkeys && camels over automobiles. So whats woring with wanting simpler things in life?
I feel deeply sad. This is not right. I feel that the Isralei people are so lost, that they feel by gaining rightfull ownership of a piece of land - beacuse they were kicked out of russia and germany. They are what I would call "obssesed" with ensuring that the horrific happenings to them will not happen again, righly should not to any human race. But, deeper than that , I think every Isreali needs to look deep inside themselves and feel settled on Gods earth, without having to claim land. - they seem unsettled. Let the Arabs, live there life peacfully.
God help all those Jews, Muslims, Christsains who have lost their lives in this "political" football that the politicans have made. Its common people who have nothing to do with politics, the ones that get hurt.

I wanted a good source of information on palestine for two reasons, one because i'm part palestinian and it's my homeland on my father's side, and two, because I've wanted to know the truth and help spread it here in the west. I hate being here, and I miss palestine greatly but I keep in mind, Allah may have placed me here for a reason. Until I know this reason clearly, I'm stuck here, but this is an excellent site for knowing what's really happening over there. I pray daily for palestine and her freedom, and inshallah it'll happen sooner rather than later.
