H appears that the Jewish per capita consumption is about 80% higher than the average world per capita consumption (3. 713 kgs.) and about 147% above that of Egypt (2.720 kgs.) while it amounts to only 45% of that of the U.S.A. (14.790 kgs.).
The Arab per capita is nearly the same as the world per capita consumption, and over one third that of Egypt while it amounts to about one quarter of that of the U.S.A.
PRESENT TEXTILE REQUIREMENTS.
66. On the basis of the above per capita figures, the present textile requirements (taking an Arab population of 1,150,000 and a Jewish population of 530,000) are estimated, if supplies were not restricted, to be as follows :-
