(Geneva, 1931). The application to Palestine of the international labour conventions which have been ratified by His Majesty's Government is described in section 5 of chapter XVII.
Extradition.
3. Extradition agreements between Palestine and Egypt and Syria respectively were made in the early days of the civil administration, and with Trans-Jordan in rn34 (amended in 1935). Extradition treaties between the United Kingdom and forty foreign States were made applicable also to Palestine.
Commercial agreements and treaties.
4. The trade agreements made in the name of Palestine with Syria, the Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq and Trans-Jordan have been described in section 1 of chapter XIII. In addition, certain commercial treaties and conventions between the United Kingdom and foreign States were made applicable to Palestine. These included :
(a) treaties of commerce and navigation with ten countries; (b) trade or commercial agreements with five countries;
(c) agreements on particular aspects of commercial relations with six countries.
Other agreements and treaties.
5. The more important conventions or agreements made in the name of Palestine in respect of matters not covered above were with:
(i) U.S.A.
- 1924, regarding the rights of the Government and nationals of the U.S.A. in Palestine."
(ii) Egypt
- 1929, regarding the reciprocal enforcement of judgments;
1933, regarding the transit of Palestinian pilgrims through Egyptian territory.
(iii) France
1926, the Bon Voisinage agreement covering a. number of administrative matters arising out of the common frontiers between Palestine and Syria and the Lebanon respectively. (Amended 1927)
