The terms of reference of the Committee are to review the schedule of maximum prices of fresh fruits and fresh vegetables according to prevailing conditions and to make recommendations thereon to the Food Controller. The Committee was appointed in December, 1943.

Following the withdrawal of recognition by His Majesty's Government from the Polish Government in London on the 5th July, 1945, His Majesty's Government assumed financial control of the affairs of the former Polish Government. A minimum staff was retained to maintain the various welfare, educational and social activities of the former Polish Government. These activities were regarded as being under the control of the Interim Treasury Committee in London pending arrangements as to their future. In Palestine a committee was appointed by the Palestine Government for the supervision and financial control of the various Polish activities specified above. This committee is responsible, through the Palestine Government, to the Interim Treasury Committee in London.

The object of the Board, which was first appointed in April, 1944, is the control and management of the Provident Fund in accordance with the provisions of the Provident Fund Ordinance, 1943**.

The General Manager, Palestine Railways. The Director of Public Works.

The Director of Customs, Excise and Trade.

Two District Commissioners.

The Under Secretary (Finance). Three non-official members.

Appointed under section 3 of the Railways Ordinance 1927 (now the Government Railways Ordinance, 1936***) to advise the Government on railway matters of general interest.
