SQUARE MEASURES (LAND).
Old Turkish dunum = 919.3 square metres.
(There is a 'new' Turkish dunum, never used in Palestine, of 2,500 square metres).
The dunum used in Palestine is a metric dunum of 1,000 square metres (about 1 acre).
10 metres x 10 metres= 100 sq. metres. 100 sq. mecrcs e t are.

10,000 ares = 100 hectares = l.000 dunums = 1 square kilometre = 250 acres (approx.).

1 dunum = .2471 acre.
4 dunums= .9888 acre.
4.047 dunums=l acre, say, 4 dunuma an acre. Square mile =2590 Dunums.
