There is evidence that the Irgun derives considerable moral, if not material, support from the Bergson "Hebrew Committee for National Liberation" and its associated groups in the United States of America and from the Revisionist organisations in South Africa, South America, France and Italy.
The Irgun broadcasting station, the "Voice of Fighting Zion" was first heard in February, 1939, and continued for eight months. Two transmissions were reported in 1941 and three in 1945. On the 16th June, 1946, the station re-opened and to date, forty-four broadcasts have been recorded.

As with the Hagana, it is impossible to give accurate details of the strength and armament of the Irgun but it is believed that the membership of the organisation consists of three categories :-
(a) a combatant group of approximately 1,000 strong employed to carry out acts of sabotage, wrecking of Government property, robbery, etc. ;
(b) a propaganda group of some 6,000 employed to attract recruits by persuasion, illicit pamphleteering, etc., and
(c) an intelligence group of approximately 100 persons some of whom are employed in Government and military establishments.
The Irgun, on several occasions has used locally manufactured flame-throwers and mortars in its attacks.
