Salary scale
I TOTAL I ARABS I JEWS | BRITISH I OTHERS
Members of the Palestine Police Force (Palestinian inspectors and other ranks, British and Palestinian) on 31st December, 1945, totalled 14,109; of these 6,209 belonged to the regular police and 7 ,690 were Temporary Additional. and Supernumerary Police. Of the latter, 2,039 persons were discharging duties for, and were being paid by, the Military Authorities, while 444 were assigned for duty to private bodies. Of the regular police, 3,484 belonged to the British section of the Palestine Police Force and 2,815 to the Palestinian section. Palestinian inspectors numbered 107; their salary scales ranged from £P.163 to £P.264 p.a. A little over 50 per cent. of the Palestinian inspectors had salary scales ranging from £P.168 to £P.216 p.a. The salary scales of the majority of Palestinian other ranks (2,484, or 92 per cent.) ranged between £1'.72 and £P.\J6 p.a. (£P.6-8 p.m.). The salary scales of the majority of British police ranged between £P.132 and £P.180 p.a. (£P.ll-£P.15 p.m.).
Casual Labour ,
There were in all 11,494 casual labourers employed in Government Departments at the end of 19-15. Some 90.8 per cent. of the total were Arabs, the remaining were Jews (6.8 per cent.) and Others (2.4 per cent.).
