Ancient synagogues and tombs• of holy men, including those of the famous mystic Rabbi, Issac Lurieh, and Joseph Caro, the famous Jewish legislator and all'thor of the Shulhan Aruch , etc.
Ruins of an ancient synagogue, since the days of the Mishna and the Talmud.
Tombs of Rabbi Simon Bar Yohai and Rabbi Eleazar. The Yeshivah of Dar Yohai and home for the aged, and many other tombs and burial caves.
A number of holy places and burial caves, including the tombs of Maimonides, Rabbi Yohannan Ben Zakai, Rabbi Aqiba and others.
Ancient synagogues, the college of Rabbi Meir Baal ha-Ness of the Merasler , and his tomb.
The reputed burial place of Aaron, the High Priest, and his sons.
OTHER RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES.
1. There are in Northern Palestine four other sects, or religions, which adhere to monotheistic beliefs, e.g., the Bahais , the Druzes, the Matawileh, and the Samaritans. These communities are dealt with in Section 6 of Chapter XII (Page 925) of the Survey of Palestine. Here it is only necessary to record the sites and shrines existing in Palestine which are objects of veneration on the part of the followers of these beliefs.

2. Bahai sanctuaries exist at Acre, where Baha-D-llah was bu-
ried in 1892; at the house in the village of el-Mazra, north of Acre, where Baha-If-Ilah lived and recorded bis inspirations; and at Haifa, on the slopes of Mount Carmel, where a mausoleum has been constructed, and where other leaders of the Bahai movement have been interred.
3. The Druze shrines in Palestine include a site at Hattin, in Tiberias Sub-district, to which hundreds of pilgrims from Jebel
