UNn'ED ZcoN1sTs-REv1s10N1sTs. (p. 960)
(§ 42)
This is an extreme right wing party, and constitutes the core of the world movement of Revisionist-Zionists. It aims at the early establishment of a Jewish State "'in its historical boundaries on both sides of the River Jordan." For over ten years the Revisionists have directly opposed the World Zionist Movement from which they seceded and formed the New Zionist Organisation. At the Q2nd Zionist Congress, however, l.he Revisionists were re-admitted to the World Zionist Organisation and the New Zionist Organisation, which had experienced continual financial embarrassment, was given three months in which to dissolve. The party maintains its bitter opposition to Government policy and remains highly critical of Zionist leadership. It tacitlv sympathises with active resistance. Y!ainly from its ranks have sprung the underground organisations, lrgun Zvai Leumi (National Military Organisation), the Fighters for the Freedom of Israel (Stem Group) and, in the United Rtates of America. the "Hebrew Committee for National Liberation" and its associated organisations , which conduct a virulent campaign against Britain in support of the aforementioned terrorist groups. The party embraces a national youth organisation called the Brith Trumpeldor (Betar), a national women's federation, an ex-soldiers' union and a national labour federation which remains entirely independent of the General Federation of Jewish Labour. Leading figures are Dr. A. Altman, Dr. David Bukspan and Mr. S. Yuuitchman. The party polled 26,964 votes, or 1-1% of the total, at the Palestine elections to the 22nd Zionist Congress at which, together with individual extremists from other parties, it advocated direct physical resistance in addition to constructive resistance to G-dvernment policy. The party organ is the dailv "Hamashkif".
