Every one is born with a treasure as a capital granted to him from God. If he did his best to build up and invest that capital in the best valuable methods, surely he will enjoy materially and significantly. That treasure capital is one's mind.

Dear friends everywhere, greetings to you.

It is one of our habits to invite friends or guests to share us food on their honor. It is
Shameful if you did not invite a friend or relative for food in your home even if you see him by coincidence. I do remember my father several times used to invite His friends to share him his table of food repeating this phrase," you deserve royal meal but this is what I can afford." Honestly, I have observed this habit with all whom I know in Italy. Do we inherit that habit from the Romans or the contrary. |

I have known a new measuring unit I never know before. The Sumerians unit of measuring was seven. I come to know that from Persian carpet's weavers. They count how many knots are available in seven cm. The total knots are Raj. That formula for dealers of Persian carpets is very essential to valuate the carpet itself. I know all that because I have the hoppy to collect Persian carpets. It is very expensive hoppy .

Alternatively your homeland roots, She replied immediately," My homeland is Canada", Where I was born and enjoy all its culture. I like also the homeland of my roots for the sake of my parents and relatives |

am highly impressed of the Persian culture, especially art of metal designing. This morning with many requests to the wife, we agreed to go to Friday Market. I found an old metal plate designed with different motifs, and in the middle, a big six pointed star
With a watch fixed in. Last night by coincidence, I was reading the internet about Jews in Iran; I knew there was a community of Jews in Tehran and Esfahan totaling nearly seventy thousands. Most of them left to Israel except small number are still in Esfahan and Tehran. I owe so much to culture where I find explanation to knots I wish to solve. |

Richness in life for anyone is to be fortunate to meet personalities of high culture and morals to keep as symbols to follow. I had been fortunate to have five personalities symbols planted in my memory. One of them is a member of my family, the other
Four were out side the circle of family and of different nationalities. One of I do remember a phrase he used always to say, "There is no poverty as long as you work" |

I owe Mr. Abdulamjeed Assalem whom I knew during the time I had been a teacher in Kuwait / Alsiddiq School 1954. I was the secretary of the school and he was the registrar. He had so many valuable and admirable characteristics. One of those was his quietness and silence. He had so many means of wisdom in all aspects. He was highly precise in his interferences in any subject. I am still holding his image in my heart and mind for half a century always following his ideals.

To enjoy a continuous friend ship with anyone, the first necessity is to know the space you are allowed. If you keep within that space, you will
Enjoy the friend ship forever or at least to the time you wish. |

One kindly requested to know his exact position in space of culture. If he
Over estimates himself, he will not be acceptable within the surroundings. On the Contrary if he underestimates himself, he will not add anything to his surroundings. One should evaluate with all tools of modesty his capabilities and accordingly his space of culture to present him within. |

In year 1950, Mr. As' ad Karam was my respectable English Teacher. He used to repeat always this phrase to students, "Speak in English .Don't fear or shy of any mistakes. I correct them to you". All of a sudden, he left Gaza to Libya to join a welfare agency called "Point 4". From that time, I have had no news about him. Some Palestinians had implemented Magellan tour around the world carrying dreams on their shoulders. I do not under estimate that attitude; every achievement began with a small dream.

I had a school friend during my youth in Gaza named Sobhi Al'ashi. By coincidence, he was leg paralyzed during his childhood. In spite of that deficiency
He proved to be an excellent swimmer. Gaza had no modern port, therefore big ships transporting goods from Beirut to Gaza use to be far of the coast nearly 2 kilometers. Everyday the only swimmer who does that swim distance is Mr. Sobhi. Once he was doing his daily sport with other swimmer whom we did not know. Both finished their swimming sport and stopped on their feet. The other swimmer sighed expressing his admiration that such paralyzed person can swim with such professionally. They became sincere friends and continued daily swimming together. |

Yesterday we had been in a visit to a Palestinian family. Their elder daughter who is architect had welcomed us. She was wearing a beautiful Palestinian dress. I showed my high admiration of the dress. She informed me that every city in Palestine, ladies
Have their own designs…..which a kind of individuality add much richness to our art. The art of any nation is a sign of standard of culture. |

As result of retirement, my respectable and beloved wife and I have recently the habit to go daily to the walk passage near to our house. Today we have seen friends we had not seen for nearly more than ten years. The image of them in my memory differs too much than what I have seen. Immediately it comes to my mind the best invention we have enjoyed is the mirror. Every one accepts his image as it is as long as he looks to the mirror. Much thanks to the mirror. |

Mr. Christ Fischer's Sohne
Was a reliable and famous manufacturer of Women Lingerie. I was fortunate to introduce his products to Kuwait and Iranian markets. Whatever quantity available In stock can be easily absorbed with good margin of profit. I had decided to make a visit to him in Kemnath / Germany. I had agreed with Mr. Fischer to meet me in Stuttgart, and then we go together to Kemnath. There was one modest hotel in Kemnath where I had slept during my visit for two days. Mr. Fischer had shown me all that area which is the nearest place to Czechoslovakia border. He introduced me to his Accounts Manager. She was a woman of forty's age. He introduced her saying our accountant hoping you will share us the pleasure because she returned from her summer holidays in Yugoslavia and very pleased with her pregnancy. |

Mr. Hassan Alnakhallah
He was my respectable teacher in Alemam Alshafi'e Secondary School/ 1949 for nearly three years. His knowledge was much higher standard for us in that era. He was capable to teach any subject. His problem was his treatment to us as if we are students in a university. Once he explained to us Europe middle era history writing In the Blackboard with big letters the word CHAOS. That was enough as explanation in his opinion to that period. |

I had been one of the first groups of teachers accepted to work in Kuwait Education Department 1954. Kuwait that time was small city. In leisure time, we had nothing except to visit friends; those whom I used to visit tried to convince me to be a member in that communism party. I asked if that party would help me to return to Palestine. He replied that will be after the Israeli communist party will be in power and Israel becomes communist state…. In addition, we are also communists, and then no conflict will be. Although I had been naïf, I know Israel will not be a communist state. The man told me you would never be a communist. Our relation becomes cold but I never forget his kindness to me and I still owe him his kind assistance. |
||
I dare to say when I came to Kuwait 12 Sept.1954. I was completely naïf in all aspects of life. Once I interfered in a topic in presence of a gentleman who said immediately," Do not interfere in our topic because you do not know anything about." I owe that man a great favor because from that moment until now I never neglect any moment I can add new knowledge to me.

Mr. Yusuf Mahmud Al Sharif was a personality in commerce and industry, and The Mayor of the municipality of Majdal – Asqlan.
It was the habit of wealthy people to own as property a huge land, planted with orange trees. He had that property called Bayarah. After the declaration of Israel as state of Jews on 15th, May 1948 and the military conflict called Arab-Israeli war. Most of Majdal inhabitants took that place as a shelter from Israelis Bombing planes. The war continued for nearly one month until both parties Arabs and Israelis agreed on a Truce. The agreement collapsed because Jews aim was to evacuate all Palestinian cities and villages from the inhabitants. They had reached their aim and I still remember my father had hired two camels to carry on little of our needs and left on walk beside the sea till we reach Gaza…The scene is still living in my mind and heart and never forget... |
||
Before1948, Most of Majdal-Asqlan inhabitants in Palestine were working in the industry of weaving cotton or silk materials. In every house, you use to see the loop for that sake and around the city; you use to observe the preparing of threads for the material they intend to weave. They use to import cotton thread from Almahala/ Egypt and silk thread from Aleppo/ Syria. No one can jump over that information with referring to two important personalities in that major business Mr.Yusef Alsharif and Mr. Yusuf Najem.

This morning I have received an email from my grand daughter in America including a list of Jewish personalities added to different fields of culture. I agreed with all the respect. However, to my astonishment I had not seen any personality from Yemen where there was a big community of Jews there. |

We are highly impressed by personalities of high education. However, the education itself does not create acceptance of the personality's presence. We appreciate more people of culture, which is simply one's behavior.

Most of my life I had been in Commerce. Friends of my field in business advised me to keep small amount as bank deposit for cases of emergency. After retirement, I observed the accumulated amount in the bank is good. Recently my wife and her chancellor our elder son continued blaming me to keep that amount in the bank. According to their advice, I should invest in the stock market. At last, I yielded to their consult. It does not take a long time for the stock market to collapse. The money nearly vanished. They are always saying now its God's willing. |

The Central Train Station in Milano used to be the Terminal of all airlines passengers. Mr. Lorenzetti was the one who accompanied me to Hotel Medulaniom in Via Mauro Machhi 1. The First Hotel I stayed in from my first visit 1962 until now. The only difference now that the daughter and her husband welcome us. The Father Mr. Lorenzitti and the mother were dead. The other difference is that we paid for the first time Lit 6000 and the last time Lit 180000. That difference is within forty-five years. Honestly, that was reasonable compared with the inflation in all aspects of life. Italy was unique in every thing.

Fortune lasts longtime Mr. Ali Mahraban was an Iranian from Abadan, an important oil city, the distance from Abadan to Kuwait by boat is less than one-hour time. Due to high taxed import To Iran, the cost was very high. Most imports to Iran were illegally smuggled by small boats from Kuwait to Iran. Mr. Mahraban asked me to import for him an article called shawl used by Moslem women to cover their hair. I knew a manufacturer for that item in Italy called Arturo Galli. In commerce, it is risky to deal in Articles of one client's demand. If you lost that client, the goods considered as stock one has to add extra margin of profit covering that risk. If I receive a call from him saying there is waseelah, it meant that he is coming soon to take any quantity I have of shawls. Therefore, the most musical word I used to enjoy that time was Waseelah. |

Year 1962, Calzeficio Bloch was the most important factory in Italy producing gent's socks and women stockings. As I repeat, always Italians are generous people and kind. After I had finished my orders, I had enjoyed the company of Mr. Bloch for the whole day. The most I still remember is our visit to The Scala Theater. I believe it is one of the most luxurious and important world theaters. I recommend every one happens to be in Milano not to miss the visit to Scala Theater. |

Sept 1962 / 1
I got up late in the morning and left the hotel around 11 O'clock. Out of the hotel, I found a taxi. I used the language of signals to explain to the driver my aim. He Understood and took me to a big factory called Umberto Severe. I was quite sure that I had been the first client to them from Kuwait. I was fortunate because I had found a big variety to select. I had selected a very nice assortment and agreed on terms of payment, which was payment of partial amount immediately and the balance against documents on arrival of goods. I bought from other several manufacturers other quantities on the same conditions. At the end of the day I had finished my buying has and left by train to Milano on my way back to Kuwait through Rome / Beirut /Kuwait. |
||
Sept.1962 Bologna is the capital city of Emilia Romagna in northern Italy. It was my intention to visit a factory there named Kamital. The same I new through sign letters spread all over the main roads and squares. I succeeded to reach the company. The owner Mr. Kamital allowed me to look over their collection and to check the export prices. The prices were not suitable to me. Mr.Kamital observed that and immediately proposed to go to Modena and from there to small city called Carpi. I succeed to reach Carpi at 5 o'clock next morning. . I carried my suitcase and walked a little distance to find Hotel Turku where I asked for one room and slept.

I have retired compulsory because I had to evacuate my shop by means of law. Buildings' owners have the right to demolish their buildings if its age more than twenty-five years. I have lost the compass for everything … Sometimes the night is my day and other time the day is my night. I am now suffering like most Palestinians having no citizenship. The only thing I do to come over such status is to play with my memories. That is not consuming all the time. Now I come to realize the life is a dream if that is lost it will have no value.

Kuwait, 12 February 2009
I had long relations with Italian exporters of ready-made garments. They were mainly Jews especially in Milano. Because of that relation, I had known some of their social habits. One of those habits was the Dotta. That is the amount, will be paid to the daughter when she is married. That is very important to agree on between the Bridegroom's family and the Bride's family. After the marriage, the bride will not have any heritance from her father's property. Logically such attitude has means of acceptance because that amount of money will help the couple to invest in any new project for their benefit. The start of family life will be easier, why to inherit after death, why not before? Honestly, I have done nearly the same in my life and I am enjoying the achievements of my sons and my only daughter. |

He was one of the first groups graduated of The Arabian College in Jerusalem. The head master of that college was Sameh Beik Alkhaldi. Beik was a title granted to personalities of remarkable efforts in any sector of culture. . According to my information, Mr. Sameh Beik Alkhaldi graduated from Oxford University in England. Uncle Medhat appointed as headmaster of Hamamah School, a village far of Majdal-Asqlan nearly 15 kilometers. I beg to ask a reader not imagine too much about he tool of transport. Dear all,
I would like to show you these movies which have been done by the amazing channel AL- Jazzera. It's talking about AL Ajami Street in YAFA the Bride of Mediterranean Sea. In these movies we will understand the truth of who is the victim and who is the criminal, it's show clearly how the JEWESH army killed and expelled people of YAFA the actual LAND LORDS just to achieve their false dream in the holly land which is OUR LAND. By the way my grand father borne and lived in Al AJAMI Street, he had a super market over there. During 1948 war he refused to leave his land, home and his properties he kept going every morning to his shop. One day a Jewish guy decide to end this daily activity and for sure he was planning to force my Grand father to leave the place. The Jewish Guy was waiting him on the roof of the shop, while my grand ba was trying to open the lock of the door the Jewish guy DROP A BIG STONE ON HIS HEAD, immediately my Grand ba fell done out of conscious. At that time my Grand Ma decide to go back to Bala'a in Tolkarem where my Grand father roots belonged to, a way from JEWISH criminal acts. The thought they will be able to come back within few days,, but they don’t till this moment!! That’s why we hate JEWISH, and that’s why we fight them till last moment in our life. And we will fight them till the last drop of blood in our body! No one can stop us from getting our rights back. Memories of my childhood,
Before 1948, Most of shublaq's family was living in Majdal-Asqlan. Private Doctors used to be in their clinics twice a week to check up their patients or to submit services to others who afford charges of private doctors. Since nearly one year, important Palestinian personality was dead. With all my respect and sorrow, he was Dr. Haider Abdulshafi who had a clinic in Majdal. I had once injured in my knee during school football game. My father had taken me to Dr. Haider. He stitched my injury and took full care of me for nearly one week. He refused to have any charges from my father. In eighties of last century, my father had supervised his building in Gaza. I remember my father refused to take any charges. Surely, Dr. Haider knew that was his job from which he earns his living. He insisted to deliver him an envelop Of three thousand pounds. That is the tradition in Palestine. 10/2/2009 . |

Next day as agreed Madam Alexandra came to hotel and picked me in her mini car. She introduced me to a famous factory of child's dresses named "Eleganza Infantile",it means Elegant Infant. Honestly, that morning I have found a treasure. I placed very important order and to keep their trust and confidence I had paid them a small amount as guarantee to put the order in production and the letter of credit to follow immediately on my arrival to Kuwait. I had fulfilled all my promises. The goods shipped to Kuwait in time and sold immediately on arrival to a respectable and famous merchant of children dresses in Kuwait. He continued to place orders to same factory through me for several years.

Farid owes Italy all respect and love
Sept. 1962 According to the experience, I have achieved within the short time I had been in commerce by means of correspondence. I recognized that personal contacts would be more fruitful. Therefore, I had decided to travel to Italy. I should go to Beirut/Lebanon first to get the Visa through the Italian consulate there. The first obstacle I had faced," The Italian consulate refuses to stamp a visa on such a document I had". They were so kind and informed me to have first an entry visa from any other European embassy; accordingly, they can grant me a transit visa to Italy, which will be valid for one week. They were so kind and informed me that the only consulate use to issue visas for such documents is Switzerland. I had followed their advice. Next day I got the Switzerland Visa stamped on my document, went to The Italian Embassy, and got the Entry Visa to Italy. I confirmed my plane ticket Beirut- Rome-Beirut. I know my last destination will be Milano but I thought being the Capital is Rome; the only airport will be there, and any other connection will be by trains. I stayed for some days in Rome find nothing of my interest. I took the train to Firenze. I had stayed in a Hotel called "Villa Azalle". The owner is intellectual Lady of high morals and behaviors. I told the woman the aim of my trip, immediately he promised to help me. Next day an old woman came and presented herself to as ex-employee in the chamber of commerce in Firenze. 2/9/2009 (Next will follow) |

Thank you for your nice encouraging words. I use to listen more than to talk . I express myself better in writing.Best regards Amo Farid |

Amo Farid,,,, waw really I like your marvelous stories. I have told you once before that we have to write your long life experiment as a Palestinian and as a human being too. I like your story with the British Guy, your replay was strong and rhetorical. The other story regarding the Architect, it's really nice to accept and have the initiative to start new work without any experience. Amo keep going, we will keep your writing to our children, we have to authenticate such things.

Risky decisions might be a last fortune to you .I came to Kuwait as Teacher after being high school graduated. Once I had been in a restaurant with an empty chair free in my table. A person asked me to sit on. During the meal, we talked together and I knew that he came to Kuwait a few days before, searching to establish Architect office. We began to meet in the same restaurant several times. Then I did not see him for nearly three months. Suddenly he came to My school and asked me to pass him in his new office. I went there the same day afternoon to work secretary and accountancy job in his office as par time. Honestly, I knew nothing about both jobs. I know a person who is working in the electricity department as accountant. I told him about the offer. He encourages me to accept in condition that he will help me to learn all about the business. We went together to a library and bought two books one English correspondence and the other accountancy. I have done my business in perfect manner four years. Then I had use the knowledge achieved to establish my own business as export and import. |

I had been a wholesaler of ready-made garments. London was a source of my imports. The main address for our business is Great Portland Street. After I had finished the deal, the respectable owner of the shop asked where I am from. .I replied, originally from Palestine but I am living now in Kuwait. He replied immediately, Oh, I had been in Israel and was highly impressed by the high progress they achieved. I had visited villages where Palestinians were living I have seen nothing modern compared with Israelis villages. . I replied immediately admitting the fact he had said and explained to him the reason they were not rich to build modern villages. I added Also great Portland street is not a modern street compared with address of Oxford street for example, do you allow other to kick you from this shop because it is old... He was silent and I cancelled my order. |

I had phoned my granddaughter AYLA in Toronto / Canada this morning .I said how are you my princess? Immediately replied I am not fine because the sight is only snow anywhere.I do not like that colour anymore. Immediately Ireplied.It might be the most beautiful color you should like. Babies at birth wore white color dresses... when they grew up ,the best dress they imagine to wear is the white pride drsse |

Amo Farid , I have read your comment about your uncle Jawdat and highly impressed of that personality, I hope i could do the same in my field.
|

Kuwait29/1/2008, I have neen always admiring the personality of my uncle Jawdat Shublaq. He started his business life an artisan.He was famous as a tailer of Men's traditional Robe called Qombaz in Majdal Asqlan/Palestine. Beside that job ,he had been the distributer of the two famous palestinian news papers Alqodos and Aldifa'. Later he changed his activity to start a stationary business and had the biggest shop in Majdal that time. When he was obliged to leave Majdal 1948 to Gaza , he maintained the same activities. He succeeded in Gaza to the reporter of the famous Egyptian newspaper Alahram.He was dead forty years before but he is still living in my mind and heartt

The dressing of our palestinian brother you are illustrating in your site is of Jacket and a folkloric Robe called Qombaz.I could not trace from where was herniated.I do remember my father and grandfather were wearing the same..my father was dead before thirty years at 80 years age, and my grand father was dead 1948 nearly one month before leaving our country due to awo and terror of Israel of nearly the same age.

Tuesday 27/1/2009 May I assure that I have never been racial,hoping to be accused of racism.I had been in London Nov.1967. On Sunday I had decided to visit Hyde Park in London.I had listened to a speaker who was highly proud of Israeli army and his achievements of victory against all Arab Armies.I had asked the speaker to give me the chance to ask him one question.Do you believe in military facts? He looked at me and said "You are wearing nice suit.Immediately I replied,"You are debating people who believe in your speech.You should give me the same chance given to them even if my speech does not suit you. I left and immediately followed by a gentleman who told me," You should immediately go to your hotel and added" Don't argue a Jew." Throw one pound in the road ,he will run after and surely he will face a car accident."

Wish to tell you my story with my respectable and beloved Mom.It is the habit in childhood to be trained the craft of your father or any other member of the family.My father was a carpenter,and my uncle was a shoe-maker.I preferred to join my uncle's job the shoe-maker because the habit that time when the owner of the new shoes comes to collect it,he pays a little tip to small assistants like me.That tip will not be in any case less than one or two piasters..with five piasters you can buy a cigarettes'packet..Abo Hamza was the most important laborer for my uncle showed no satisfaction for my joining the business.I had to share him the tip otherwise he will not teach me the profession. I agreed implementing the same mentality ..Abo Hamza was the only Jew who lived in Majdal.He was alcoholic.All what he gains he spend at the end of the day on alcohol.Abo Hamza was the only Jew who lived in Majdal and surely stayed there after we had been obliged to leave our city and our properties because of Awe and Teror.
|
||
I am civilian and know nothing about military tactics.Nowadays I hear new tactics of war such AWE and TEROR.As to my best knowledge that tactics I had suffered in 1948 during Israelis war against Palestinians. My age that time was twelve years and near our house was the government clinic for Inhabitants of Majdal Asqlan. I have seen with my open eyes more than hundred men dead or severly injured by Israeli aircrafts bombing over those people while collecting their harvest of wheat.I swear God on all holy books that the sight of those dead or injured people is still installed in my memory till now for more than sixty years and surely I shall keep with me till death.Is awe and terror a new war tactics?

The dress of the Palestinian mother you are illustrating in your website is the folkloric dress of all ladies of villages in south Palestine begining from Isdood till Gaza ..the material of the same was weaved in Majdal where I was born and the metal key she has in her hand is manufactured manually in Khalil in Palestine.
