We like to draw your attention to recent updates at the site; by far it has been the largest upgrade since our inception in 2000:
- All Palestinian towns are listed: Every single Palestinian town has been add to the site. Besides listing all ethnically cleansed towns, now all Palestine-48, West Bank and Gaza Strip towns (including all refugee camps) have been added. Please be free to upload pictures, articles, comments, ...etc. to your town's homepage. We urge you to register at your town to increase our sense of community.
- Comments: Below each listed picture comments can be added. Note that your email won't be shared with visitors and members. We urge you to seek relevant information to each listed picture from your friends and loved ones. Identifying pictures accurately brings them to life, and they'll become extremely useful to our next generations, journalists, and historians.
- Satellite view: The site has been fully integrated with Google Maps and Google Earth satellite imagery, just look for the View from satellite and View in Google Earth links in each listed town or picture. It should be noted that a unique mapping software has been created to allow you to add local placemarks to your town. For example, new placemarks for mosques, churches, schools, springs, ...etc can be easily added to your town's satellite view page. Click here to learn more about this project.
- Videos: For each listed town, you can add You Tube and Google videos, click here to see a sample of what has been shared. We urge you to share all relevant videos. Sharing videos online has never been easier.
- Tracing All That Remains Since Nakba. A new project that aims to visit and document (in video format) all ethnically cleansed and destroyed towns, click here to see a listing of the towns we have visited so far.
- Nakba Oral History Project is on full swing. To date, over 240 interviews have been conducted, a cumulative of over 850 hours of recording (all can be seen and heard online) covering over 144 ethnically cleansed towns. Click here to check the latest list; we may have interviewed somebody from your town. If your town has not been covered yet, and you know a loved one or a friend who survived Nakba and currently live in Jordan, do not hesitate to contact Fawwaz Salameh (+962-79-661-5275) to arrange for an interview ASAP. Your help identifying the surviving refugees (who remember Palestine before Nakba) is critical and appreciated. Sadly, we are racing against time.
- Navigation: Navigating the site have never been better. Note how from any single picture, you can browse all posted pictures for Palestine by clicking on the Next link.
With your help, PalestineRemebered.com has become the largest and most prominent online Palestinian community. We have succeeded to bring Palestinians together, and at least partially we are reversing some of the tragic affects of Nakba and Israeli occupation. Palestinian families, which were separated due to Nakba and occupation, have been using the site for six years to network, resurrect old family and friendship ties, and to share their experiences. Energizing our sense of community at this important crossroad is very important.
Until our return, we'll neither relent nor rest, and your support is critical to our success.
We appreciate bringing this page to the attention of your friends and loved ones, God bless you.
Our DATE is 58 years LATE, we shall return inchallah.
