Haavara FAQs: Post Uganda: Zionism On Trial By Beit Zvi
|
As we were researching the Haavara Agreement and Zionists' response to the Holocaust, this excellent book kept coming up as a resource. Although the author, Beit Zvi, was not trained as a historian, his research and analysis are top-notch. This book was one of the first to be released on the subject of Zionists' response to the Holocaust (the Hebrew version was first released in 1977, and this English version was released in the early 1990s), and as you shall see, he even corresponded with David Ben-Gurion and other Zionist leaders, too. Before using his research, we spent a lot of time verifying the sources, and honestly, Zvi's is top quality. Anyhow, we hope you enjoy this format, here is the same version but in PDF format.

Notice in the last paragraph how Brazil offered to take 40,000 German and Austrian Jews per year. Therefore, it was not just the Dominican Republic that offered to take in a large number of Jews:
-
-
Beit-Zvi's analysis in the 2nd paragraph is second to none: Zionist leaders hoped and plotted to make Evian an utter failure. Note how Arthur Ruppin reluctantly executed Ben-Gurion's evil mission:

-
At the end of the page, note how Beit-Zvi gave a free pass to Zionists on plotting and hoping to make Evian a failure. He implied that Zionists didn't see the destruction of European Jewry; thus, they could be forgiven. Honestly, Beit-Zvi's assessment is good and dandy if and only if Zionists changed their policy when news of the calamity was known to them (actually, Kristallnacht was the turning point). What was written here was a shock to us since it was Beit-Zvi himself who proved on multiple occasions how Zionists attempted to torpedo any rescue scheme except for Palestine. Not only did this evil policy persist during the war, but most importantly, it continued in the DP camps as well:

In the middle of the page, note how David Ben-Gurion rejected Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver's request for an allocation of $4,000 for the President's Advisory Committee on Refugees. In the 2nd half of the page, pay attention to the JAE meeting minutes concerning the Kristallnacht pogrom in November 1938.:
-
For the next few pages, you will see how JAE (especially Moshe Sharett) were against any solution to the Jewish refugee crisis except for Palestine. Keep in mind, this happened after the Kristallnacht pogrom of November 1938:

It is chilling to read Ms. Silverman's assessment of the Sosua colony. Keep in mind that she wrote this in late 1941, when the Holocaust was about to begin:
-
Zvi's analysis begins here. It should be that we reached similar conclusions by examining the facts from different sources, and we were shocked to read what Zvi reported down here:

Note Zvi"s description of Haim Greenberg's famous article (Bankrupt!) at the end of the page. We managed to find the full article:
-
In the 1st half of the page, Mr. Zvi alluded to a subject rarely talked about (hoarding and starving rescue funds). It seems that Haim Greenberg wrote another article, "Break the Siege" on Feb 19th, 1943 protesting Zionists' lobbying against sending food parcels into the Jewish ghettos during WWII. Why did Zionists do such an evil thing? Anyhow, we are still investigating this little-known subject. We are in the process of finding this article, but so far we have had little luck. Let us know if you find it in the comments section. In the middle of the page, notice how Mr. Greenberg completely halted his criticisms for some reason after publishing these two articles. Were Zionist thugs able to muzzle him as they did to Hannah Arendt when she exposed the Kapos phenomena in 1963? Trust us on this one; even Hannah was muzzled:

In the 2nd half of the page, Rabbi Michael Dov-Ber Weissmandl enters the picture:

The Europa Plan starts here:
-
Pay attention to the last paragraph. Rabbi Weissmandl recalled the letter from Natan Shwalb, which he denied sending after WWII ended:

Zvi's assessment of what happened to the Europa Plan starts from the middle of the page:
-
-
Zvi's conclusion started from the second paragraph, but be seated first. The Working Group was negotiating with the 2nd in command himself, and they didn't know it: Herr Himmler:
-
Reading the last paragraph summed it up; it was quite chilling to read:

At the end of the page, please pay attention to Haim Greenberg's article "Bankrupt!" which Mr. Zvi alluded to earlier on page 281. Here is David Wyman's take on this little known article:
-
The 2nd have of the page referenced newspaper and; here are a couple of them that were published at the NY Times:

It was CHILLING to read the last two paragraphs:

In the middle of the page before the stars; notice Zvi's citation of Ben-Gurion on July 2nd, 1944:

Joel Brand's saga starts here:

Suppressing news of the extermination of Hungary's Jews starts here. Zionist leaders used to get reports in real-time on how many people used to board the trains daily:

It was chilling to read the last two paragraphs. Beit-Zvi here is talking about how Israel's censorship worked since WWII. In our humble opinion, all that comes from Israelis should be treated as trash until proven otherwise. It must have been hard for him to write this; he had no joy writing about his people:
