Note how Hayim Greenberg forcefully defended Zionists' fixation on Palestine as the ONLY solution to the Jewish refugee crisis. On the other hand, as the Holocaust became apparent just several months later; he quickly reversed his opinion in Feb. 1943. Actually, Mr. Greenberg's Feb. 1943 article was more of a rebuke of his below arguments when he described American Jewry's passivity as "morally bankrupt". As you read the below chilling account, please keep in mind that at this point in time (April 1942), it was an open secret that the Nazis already killed up to two millions Jews (mostly by bullets in the Belarus, Ukraine, and the Soviet Union), and the majority in the Zionist leadership predicted at least another two million would be dead by the war's end:

Note the last two paragraphs in the second column; it gives us an idea of Zionists' mind-set and frame of reference to why they were fixated only on Palestine as the destination for European Jewish refugees. He clearly implied a second colonization option could be considered only once Palestine reaches the saturation point! WoW:
