BBC Reports on the Appartheid Wall, 5 episodes |
51 min 3 sec http://www.BBC.com تقرير من هيئة الإذاعة البريطانية عن جدار الفصل العنصري - خمسة أجزاء In June 2002 Israel began construction of a massive security fence in the area of the Green Line, the unofficial border where Israel meets the occupied West Bank. The Israeli Government said the fence was designed to prevent Palestinian "terrorists" from entering Israel. Many have denounced the fence as a "wall of apartheid" and accused Israel of sinister motives, saying it is reinforcing its occupation under the cover of security. This BBC documentary follows the story of the controversial fence from the outset of construction, through the eyes of both Israelis and Palestinians who are directly affected. The film unfolds while the world is preoccupied by the war on Iraq and barely shows a flicker of recognition or interest in the fence, despite its huge implications: the Israel problem is according to many the cancer at the heart of international affairs and an incentive for Jihadists attacking the West.
