As much as it is sweet and delicious, as much as it is annoying while picking.
The traditional way of picking this fruit is by fixing a can with the size of the cactus fruit on an edge of a cane then putting the fruit in the can and start twisting the cane right and left till you hear a click which means that the fruit is already separated from the stem.
Later then, you have to begin with the most annoying process which is frankly the process of dethroning ( sweeping the thorns)off those cactus fruits.
This process has given the cactus its name in Arabic صير means patience.
To sweep the thorns you must have a handful of straws to remove the thorns from the cones.
During this process you must be sitting clockwise to the wind flow to avoid those tinny but very sharp thorns to come into yours eyes as it causes hard pains and an endless eyes etching.
Get the fruits peeled , let them be chilled for a few minutes and have a very delicious taste.
