Following the bombing of the Samiramis hotel, the Abdo family moved to his sister's house Juliette, near the Egyptian Consulate, and then to Bethlehem and eventually to Lebanon. another house in Baq'a and eventually. The house was confiscated by the Custodian of Absentee Property.
Daoud Abdo was a prominent portrait photographer. Following the end of WWI, Daoud apprenticed in photography with his uncle, the Greek Photographer Miltiades Savvides, and after a few years, he opened his own studio on Jaffa Road opposite the Fast Hotel. His sister Margo assisted him in the studio. He was the eldest son of Saba Abdo and Despina Savvides. He had one brother, Michael, and six sisters, Mary, Margo,Henriette, Juliette, Acrivie, and Katie. The family of Saba and Despina, parents of Daoud, lived in their own house on King George Street. In 1930, he was hired as Master Photographer by the National Archeological Museum in Jerusalem. Daoud married Zacharena Schtaklef in 1929; they had three children, Saba, Katy, and Ted.
