Prior to the 1970s, this used to be a leafy street lined with hoary, massive pine trees canopying it from the sun, and rows of cypress trees sheltering it from the biting Westerly winds. The old majestic houses barely glimpsed amidst the foliage of walnut, fig and almond trees. Wedding motorcades would pass it and families would stroll along it, talking and laughing in the cool evenings....with the lights of Yaffa twinkling in the distant west....Palestine, our Paradise on Earth.
