Amazing Picture. The simplicity depicted in this picture is a treasure. Based on my experience interviewing refugees around the Middle East, these people didn't work hard for money, actually for many they used to exchange surplus without the need for money!!! Money became the standard in the mid-forties.

When the refugees speak about that period I see and feel something that we Palestinians and Jews don't know: Peace. Sadly, now peace means to many of us security and they are not the same. Security is necessary for peace, but peace is an incredible feeling that I don't know. Our lost treasure; inchallah we shall collectively reclaim it soon.

These people just wanted to live with dignity and respect; no wonder that is a fuel to the Arab Spring.
