Previously she served for five years as an Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Deputy Commissioner-General of UNRWA. Before joining UNRWA, she worked for the UNHCR for 19 years. She began her humanitarian career in Sudan in 1981, dealing with Ugandan, Chadian, and Ethiopian refugees, and subsequently served in Namibia, Liberia, Geneva, and Sarajevo.

I am palestinian refugee from lebanon, living in abu dhabi. I have a son, he suffering from kidney failure and he need to trasplant a kidney, it is very costly and i have no money at all. My request is that you adopt my son for asylum seeder in any european country for treatment. thank you.
