To me, these are the most beautiful homes because they are reminiscent of our history "Assilna wa fassilna." How humble, lovely, and wonderful "Ahil Turmosayya used to be. Every older male was "Our Uncle" and we took such pride in the closeness. On the Eid, throngs of these uncles would enter our home to wish us a "Happy Eid" and partake of the myriads of pastries my mother spent the whole night preparing rather than buying the usual ready-made variety from Ramallah. God bless the old days and may our most loving and generous old uncles rest in peace.
