بين المعالم المركزية في الحي: سوق وادي النسناس، بيت الكرمة، مدرسة الأخوة ومدرسة مار يوحنا الإنجيلي. ويُقام كل سنة في الحي مهرجان عيد الأعياد.
تربى في الحي وعاش فيه شعراء وكتاب ومفكرين، فلسطينين منهم الشاعر الشعبي نوح إبراهيم «تلميذ القسّام» الذي ولد في الحي عام 1913 وترعرع فيه، والكاتب الفلسطيني أحمد دحبور الذي ولد عام 1946، والكاتب حسن البحيري صاحب كتاب «حيفا في سواد العيون»، تربى في الحي الكاتب إميل حبيبي، الذي كتب مقالاته في صحيفة الاتحاد المحلية عندما كان مقر الصحيفة في الحي. ومن الذين قطنوا الحي أيضاً، رغم أنه لم يولدوا فيه الشاعر محمود درويش، وكذلك سميح القاسم وصبري جريس، وكان في الحي مقر الحزب الشيوعي وجريدة الاتحاد، وإميل توما المنتمي للحزب الشيوعي ...وتبقى #فلسطين_الوطن
Wadi Al-Nisnas, Haifa - Palestine 🇵🇸
Wadi Al-Nisnas is a famous ancient Palestinian Arab neighborhood located in the town of Al-Tahti, located in the city of Haifa. Wadi Al-Nisnas was developed at the end of the nineteenth century as a new neighborhood outside the walls of Haifa. Among the central landmarks in the neighborhood are: Wadi Al-Nisnas Market, Beit Al-Karma, Al-Okhowwa School and St. John Evangelical School. Every year, the Festival of Feasts is held in the neighborhood.
A lot of Palestinian poets, writers and thinkers have lived and were raised in the neighborhood, including the popular poet Noah Ibrahim “the student of Al-Qassam” who was born in the neighborhood in 1913 and grew up there, the Palestinian writer Ahmed Dahbour, who was born in 1946, and the writer Hassan al-Buhairi, the author of the book “Haifa in the Blackness of the Eyes.” In the neighborhood is the writer Emile Habibi, who wrote his articles for the local newspaper Al-Ittihad when the newspaper was based in the neighborhood. Among those who lived in the neighborhood also, although they were not born there, were the poet Mahmoud Darwish, as well as Samih al-Qasim and Sabri Jeries, and in the neighborhood was the headquarters of the Communist Party and the Union newspaper, and Emile Touma, who belongs to the Communist Party.
