Here is the link to that location.
The Surviving Arch of the Yazur Ice Factory (Ma'mal al-Thalj)Standing on the edge of modern Route 44 (the historic Jaffa–Jerusalem road) is the lone surviving concrete entrance of the Yazur Ice Factory. During the winter of 1947–1948, this compound served as a critical defensive outpost for local Palestinian resistance fighters under the regional command of Hasan Salama (commander of Jaysh al-Jihad al-Muqaddas in the Lydda–Jaffa sector), who used the vantage point to disrupt armed Zionist supply convoys traversing the highway. On the dawn of February 20, 1948, Palmach shock units launched a combined-arms raid planned directly by Yitzhak Rabin (then operations officer of the Palmach) to retaliate for earlier convoy losses and break the blockade. Palmach sappers breached the fortified compound and detonated heavy explosive charges, reducing the factory complex to rubble. Today, while almost all of Yazur's houses and orchards were subsequently cleared and depopulated during Operation Hametz in late April 1948, this single gateway was deliberately spared. As the Hebrew plaque beside it notes, the Israeli Heritage Preservation Council maintains it not to remember the displaced village, but as a military monument marking the Haganah’s first dawn raid using heavy support weaponry. The impact marks and shrapnel scars from the 1948 blast remain clearly etched into the concrete pillars.
