Lifta - لفتا: Rarely did the Jews own land; often, the so-called Jewish land is in the hands of corporations like the JNF which was bailed out by Adolf Hitler from insolvency due to the Haavara agreement between 1933 & late 41. OTOH, this is one of the rare exceptions. It was sold by Salahit Stauri, who was later killed for selling the land. More details in the comments section1 comment |

Backgorund:
Lifta (Arabic: لفتا) is an abandoned village in the western entrances of Jerusalem, located within the Me-Naftuh Nature Reserve (Lifta)
In the events of 1929, the villagers took an active part in the robberies and the attack on the nearby Jewish neighborhoods. In November 1934, a land dealer resident of the village, was murdered by a local organization of nationalist Arabs who opposed the sale of Lifta land to the Jews. The head of the village, Mahmoud Issa, also received threats of murder on a similar basis. Even in the events of 1939-1936, the villagers participated in attacks against the Jewish neighborhoods and transportation on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv road.
