UN Map updated on August 1950 based on: Village Statistics of 1945. Note the lower corners for important details
A Brief Introduction
Village Statistics (one of two primary sources based on which UN partitioned Palestine in late 1947) is a rare and important book that was first published by the Palestine Government in 1937 under the request of the Peel Commission, which was used to draw the first proposed partition plan in 1937 (known as the Peel Partition Plan). At the time, it had limited circulation, and later it was updated with a newer version to represent 1945 village statistics. Mr. Sami Hadawi (GB entrusted him to compile this book who was a prominent Palestinian scholars) republished this important book in a manageable size. The original version was printed in a single large table that spanned many pages; which you can download for free (but it is over 50 MB in size), and here is the 1938 version hosted at Israeli National Library. In this edition, Mr. Hadawi added some important explanations and notes which the original version didn't have. Just in case you distrust our Zionist and British Mandate sources, HERE is the founder of the "Jewish state," David Ben-Gurion, confirming similar information as late as January 1966 (7 years before he died), which implies that several Zionist myths were concocted after the 67 War when American Jewry embraced Zionism in mass.
Important Notes
JFK said it BEST in 1939: Palestine Was Hardly Britain's to Give Away
As you contemplate the below data, please note:
- As of 1947, Jews in Palestine owned UNDER 6% of the lands, and after the 1948 war of Nakba close to 80% of the Palestinian people were DISPOSSESSED of their lands, homes, farms, and businesses. Keep in mind the Palestinian citizens of Israel (who make up 20% of citizens) are limited to under 3% of the land.
- Although Jews were a 1/3 of the total population, only 1/4th of those gained Palestinian citizenship! The rest were either immigrants or refugees.
-
Over 90% of Jewish-owned lands were titled in the name of Zionist Colonization Corporations (such as Keren Hayesod, Hanotiya, and JNF); which are neither a citizen nor an individual! Jews in mass preferred to live with the Gentiles in the Americas, that is where they bought their lands.
- It is revealing how we found only a handful of land deeds for the Jewish citizens of Palestine; which explains why Israelis lease rather than own the land (either from the state or JNF). On the other hand, Palestinians still have their original deeds in the tens of thousands; here is our growing list.

Hitler's Message To The West: If Jews are such noble citizens and you care about them, how come you're not letting them in?
Concerning Beersheba, miri, and public (a.k.a. State domain) lands, we have addressed those in depth from primary sources in another section, if you are interested, please click here.
- Much to our surprise, we've discovered that as late as 1938, David Ben-Gurion (the founding father of the "Jewish state") wrote to his son Amos about his plans (more like a dream) of blooming the Negev desert (meaning it wasn't blooming at the time) and most importantly David admitted it was barren and it was thinly populated by Jews.

It should be noted that we have spent a lot of time extracting the statistics from this book and made it available for researchers in the form of a spreadsheet, click here for more details.
