I am daily appalled by the markedly one-sided coverage of the Isreali-Palestinian conflict by the media here in the United States. I am convinced that one of the reasons the injustices in the region are tolerated by the American public is the media's deliberate failure to give a fair portrayal of the Palestian cause and the historic events that have precipated the ongoing violence, bloodshed and hatred. I urge those spokespersons for the Palestian struggle who are given some brief access to the media to use it to challenge the media to tell the truth, real history and background of the occupation.

But, I ask you, have u ever known a nation of people to defend their homes, their land and thier lives the way that the Palestinians have? I am an American with no historical ties to the Palestinian situation, except that I am a US Army veteran. How does this relate? I volunteered for the Army because I believe in the idea of human freedom. I was(and still am) willing to sacrifice my life in an attempt to ameliorate human suffering. My choice was not based on US foreign policy, but on the responsibility I felt towards my family and my country.
Today, I am not as forgiving of US foreign policy, and every day I am appalled at the Western Media's representation of the current INTIFADA. Every revolutionary action taken by those that wish to liberate Palestine is classified as "terrorist" (whether or not the target was categorically military). Yet, Israeli attacks are "responses" to Palestinian uprising/violence. Uprising alone implies the subjugation of the Palestinian people.
Terrorism should be condemned. And all people, regardless of race or creed, should work to end terrorism. But in order to do so, we must understand that it may be a weapon of last resort of a people on the verge of extinction. TERRORISM IS DAMNABLE, but we must ask ,"what injustices have made this option acceptable?" Western faith in and support of Israeli actions and motives?
I hope the world will awake from its slumber before its too late. LIBERATE PALESTINE!

Your cause is just but the methods of many of your people are puzzling. You decry the slaughter of innocent children, while training very young combatants for battle. I believe that is hard to justify. Perhaps Israel is doing this too, that too would be hard to forgive.

Many of your schools teach hatred, I speak of An Najah. I've seen the pictures of Sabarro display. Suicide bombers are being groomed at this school, very young, very foolish.

Killing innocents is wrong whether it is an Airliner full of unsuspecting commuters, a building in Mahattan, A pizza shop full of high school kids, or a Palestinean man huddling with a child. It is all Murder, The God of Abraham, Allah, Yahweh, or whoever you choose to call him forbade it.

I would like to reply to the person who wrote the recent message who gave their name as U.S. citizen. I too, am a U.S. citizen, and could not disagree with him/her more.To say that all of the United States views Palestinian people as terrorists is quite a blatant lie. I am very concerned for a society of families that gave Israel's land within Palestine, in order for them to seek the genocide and ethnic cleansing, to seek refuge, only to turn around and become abused by the same people seeking refuge. Now it is the Palestinian people who are living in refugee camps. Think about it... people. Yes, young Palestinian men and women are killing themselves almost everyday--could it be because they don't have guns, tanks, helicopters etc., they don't have any other means of destruction but their own bodies, how sad is this? Perhaps if the Israeli Jews would stop building exclusinve Jewish collonies on looted occupied lands in the West Bank this may eliviate some of the problem? I suggest he/she read into the history of the state of Israel, maybe start off with author, Naom Chomsky's 1999 book entitiled: "Fateful Triangle" the war between Israel,Palestine and the US involvement. Also, maybe he/she could look into the Crimes Against Humanity charges faced by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for when he was general of Israel in 1982. I am a returning student and decided to do my group research paper on Islam. As we started the project I couldn't help but read further and further, not realizing through improper education, how the conflict in Palestine is vitally important to the stateof International Affairs of the day. I was appalled and horrified to learn about the second holocaust  that was inflicted on Palestine after the state of Israel was established. In conversation, I was even told-there was never a Palestine [click here to read our reply to this Zionist myth].

Yes, cohabitation is possible between Arabs and Jews but it is simply impossible between Arabs and Zionist. You may say that peaceful cohabitation would be better but they tried for 53 years... and look. Moreover, it's not in the Scriptures: this thing has to end in a bloodshed.
This's sad why can't we just share? Why zionists absolutly want a 100% Jewish state? Isn't this racism? Can you just quote another State in this world based on such principle?
In the West media coverage of those events is awful. Palestine is mentioned when a zionist is wounded and they talk about "terrorism" and use other magical words. When many Palestinian are killed, they barely mention it.

To Denis, I'd like to say that it's not that easy to have pro-Palestinian subjects on American channels. You have a strong pro-israel lobby there. One look at a map to see how perfectly Gaza and the West Bank would fit into the rest of Israel will send the concept of "manifest destiny" running through American minds ? that 1800s American presumption that our nation was destined to stretch from sea to shining sea.

Israel seems to many to be trying to ethnically cleanse the Palestinians out of their homeland ? not via outright massacre ? but by making their lives progressively more unbearable, until they feel forced to uproot themselves and go somewhere else.

Israel wants the world to believe that the bits and pieces of the West Bank and Gaza that Israeli settlements have taken over should be tolerable to Palestinians. What Israel does not want the world to understand is that said settlements must be connected up to each other and to Israel by what I call "Martian roads" because they are such an alien intrusion.

Not only may Palestinians not travel ON "Martian roads", but they may not CROSS over them, except at points Israel designates and at time's when Israelis are in the mood. Imagine if, after America won independence for England, British subjects stayed behind in enclaves and communicated with each other along main roads and thoroughfares which Americans could never travel on, nor even cross over at will. That would not leave much feeling of independence would it?

That would also have made most American economic life ground to a halt, wouldn't it have? Ditto, for the Palestinians, especially as creeping Israeli settlements encroach always on the best land and acquire ever more precious water wells.

With all this evidence of Israel as a nation going fascist as, shall we say, Mussolini (to avoid the obvious comparison) why do Palestinians continue to bleed themselves with suicide bombings? Everyone, today, knows that the all important thing you have to do to win any war or political conflict in the world is to get the American public on your side.

With all this evidence of Israel gone master race why don't Palestinian activists get some funding from Saudi Arabia or other oil rich friends and SYSTEMATICALLY make the points I have made above in paid commercials on American television and media.

American media outlets yield enough information for people here to figure Israel out for themselves, but there is such a natural prejudice in favor of Israel in this Christian country -- as the land of our spiritual forefathers, too; Israel can seem like the 51st state to us -- that the bad news never connects in our brains to make Israel the true bully.

Palestinians have to sort it all out for the American public as analytically as I have. I have been educating myself in American politics for 20 years but I, myself, never looked at that map of Israel until recently. Our oceans make us feel very far from the rest of the world.

Israel's trump card ? given America's natural affinity for her survival ? has been that she needed the West Bank as an outer military defense line (go back and look at the same map and it once made sense). But, the events of the Gulf War and more recent examples of the power of American military technology undercuts the need for old fashioned defense in depth. The kind of offense that Syria could mount with old Russian arms (Syria is the only remaining threat) would be reduced to scrap metal in hours by precision anti-tank weapons ? while Israel took almost no casualties; least of all would lose any land.

To anyone with any feel at all for American politics it is seems absurd for Palestinians to send youths to die as suicide bombers in Israel when all they have to do is drop sufficient funds on Madison Avenue in New York to cut Israel's American-as-apple-pie image to ribbons.

My heart goes to the Palestinian population: men,women and children who are being taken out of their own land by the people who do not belong to the land. My heart goes to the Palestinians, Palestinians; the only people on this planet who had suffered more than any other. Palestinians keep your faith and Allah knows best, all your enemies will be beaten and destroyed and we know who they are. I am asking everyone who reads this message to take it to the Ibliss commander who only find joy by killing Palestinians, to stop because very soon Allah is going to answer Palestinians' prayers positively. Please tell the Ibliss congregation to even stop saying "in God we trust" because they never did! We have the evidence.

Salam Alaykum...... I am a Palestinian from Lubya, Tiberias. I never had the chance to see Lubya!!! But when I visited this site and looked at the picture album that contains some pictures for Lubya? I felt so sad and depressed to see this beautiful land that belong to us, and that I could've been there, We use to live in a house and we moved out, my sister was 10 years when we moved. Every time we pass by the house my sister cry to go back and remember the good old days !! Well imagine a village, a city or a country, that had been stolen from its people. I want to go back to Lubya one day, and I will do all I can to make it happen.

I do not condone the actions of Isreal, OR Palistine, war breeds war, hate breeds hate. But to blame the American People for these actions is simply ridiculous. Ben Gurion once said : "The old will die and the young will forget". The first part of this is a fact; however, I tell every Israeli that the young WILL NEVER forget. Since I got to this great website about an hour ago, I showed my three little kids the beautiful pictures of Tarshiha our HOMETOWN, the first thing they said: "Dad, can we go there? we love it, it's our hometown.", I am sure we will go there one day, I replied.
