Pay attention to the the last footnote. Mr Wyman didn't cite any evidence that Zionist did any meaningful rescue. On the contrary, as you shall see in the next few pages, Mr. Wyman proved that Zionists' main focus was the creation of the state; actually the American Jewish Conference tabled rescuing Europe's Jews in the best case scenario. The facts points to the contrary, Zionist leaders lobbied against any haven EXCEPT for Palestine, which continued even after the war ended in the DP camps.:

Please pay attention to the last two paragraphs, especially where $500,000 were spent. This happened while the last million and a half was alive. As you digest this figure, keep in mind that only 1/8th of the rescue budget was spent on rescue efforts. Sadly, 7/8th of the rescue budget was diverted to building the state. This is very revealing on what was front and center on Zionists' minds which explains why the word" rescue had negative connotations to Zionists at the time:

It is STUNNING to read how Zionists' were laser focused on building the state when the last million and half was a live, and many look back with little regrets:

As you read the third paragraph below (enclosed in the 2nd red box), please contemplate JTA report on Feb 16th, 1943 which cited the Jewish Agency had anticipated the defeat of the Axis powers by the end of the year! Therefore, the Jewish Agency had allocated 10% of its annual budget ($4,608,000) to help transition yishuv's life and economy from war to peace footing! Just think about it for a minute: why spend a lot of money to rescue Europe's Jews when the war will be over soon? Remember, this happened when the last two million were still alive! Since the war ended 2 1/2 years later, may we know what happened to this money? How many Jewish lives were lost because of such policies?:

Mr. Wyman implied that Zionist leaders behaved as if the case of Europe's Jews was hopeless; therefore, why waste resources to rescue them? Honestly, we could not agree more. We found strong evidence towards that conclusion, and what Mr. Whyman cited from Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver and Nahum Goldman was ONLY the tip of the iceberg. Please pay attention to how Mr. Weyman scolded Zionists for behaving in a fatalistic way in the last few paragraphs on page 176 and continues on page 177. The lobbying efforts of the Bergson Group, along with many non-Zionist Americans, saved hundreds of thousands in early 1944; not for them, 200,000 plus Jews would have perished (see War Refugee Board for boring details). Just imagine how many would have been saved not for focusing on Palestine as the ONLY destination for Europe's Jews. You would think American Jews investigated this KAPO-like activity? Well, you guessed correctly, but it was quickly got nixed. With regards to the foot note at the end of page 176, Dina Porat (in The Blue And The Yellow Star Of David) examined the Jewish Agency's budget during WWII, and she reached a VERY similar conclusion. Most of the rescue funds were "DIVERTED" (or stolen if you like) to build the future "Jewish state." Well, think about it for a minute abd be pragmatic: if you already assumed that saving Europe's Jews are a hopeless case, why waste resources to save them? Just focus on the living and move forward!:

In the last paragraph, Mr. Wyman made a very serious error which he himself debunked several times at his website. Honestly, we don't know why he made such a statement although he provided no evidence. Actually, we found the exact opposite. Zionists lobbied hand over fist against any safe haven for Jews except for Palestine. It was David Ben-Gurion who precisely called this process the LEVER, which Mr. Wyman claim that Zionists didn't, when he wrote "....in order to keep maximum pressure on Palestine." In details, we have destroyed this myth from multiple directions. Honestly, even hardcore Zionists know well that his assertion was false. Actually, American Jewry investigated this point but they were quickly got nixed in early 1983:
We have found not a SINGLE proof that Zionist leadership supported any scheme that could have saved Europe's Jews EXCEPT for Palestine. At Palestine Remembered, we have documented tens of cases where Zionists fought tooth and nail against any such rescue schemes. Please pay attention to how Mr. Wyman didn't provide a SINGLE case where Zionists agreed to such a thing. On the contrary, this current chapter (The Zionists) is solid proof of the exact opposite opposite. Besides that, it came to our attention how it was he who confirmed that it was American Zionist leaders who lobbied against the Alaska Resettlement Scheme, which could've saved lives during WWII. Mr. Wyman, knowing of such a fact, implies he was covering up for Zionists. It should be noted that such policies continued even after the war in the DP camps. Visit this link for the complete list.
In the notes section of page 177, Mr. Wyman implied that he found no evidence that Zionist leaders intentionally avoided rescuing Jews (in the hope of creating a humanitarian or a refugee crisis) that would help them in creating the "Jewish state." On the other hand, if you read what Zionist leaders said and did in the 1930s (especially in their reactions to the Nuremberg Race Laws and the Kristallnacht pogrom in late 1938), Zionists clearly articulated this strategy. Ironically, it was David Ben-Gurion who referred to the effort of exploiting Jewish pain as the LEVER. Those were not a slip of the tongue or aberrations; as you see in Mr. Wyman's writing, Zionists' antisemitic statements in the 1930s became policies during WWII.
