The Conflation of Anti-Zionism and Antisemitism: A Critical Examination

For political and economic motives, powerful Western groups have recently begun to equate anti-Zionism with antisemitism, ostensibly to defend Israel's "right to exist." This dangerous conflation must be analyzed from three distinct perspectives: the Palestinian, the Zionist leadership, and the Nazi points of view. Understanding these angles reveals the profound risks of equating anti-Zionism with antisemitism (and Judaism with Zionism) for Palestinians, Jews, and global humanity. The arguments presented here are heavily sourced from Israeli, Zionist, and Jewish materials, with all relevant facts and data directly linked for verification.

Defining Antisemitism

Before proceeding, let's define antisemitism. In simple terms, antisemitism is the strategic weaponization of hatred against Jews to achieve political, propaganda, or economic goals. This weaponization can be employed by Jews and non-Jews alike, often leading to severe consequences.

Any acceptance is often achieved only through duress, aligning with Ze'ev Jabotinsky's infamous "Iron Wall" Doctrine. The persistence of this demand is therefore either a Zionist propaganda tactic --designed to portray Palestinians as "against peace" and negate any need for Israeli concessions-- or a display of profound contempt for Palestinians.

Shlaim highlights that antisemitic materials found in the Arab world during the pre-Nakba period were all imports from Europe. They were not "indigenous" to the region. He traced the introduction and translation of this antisemitic literature to the post-Balfour Declaration era, specifically the 1920s:

In essence, antisemitism is a European export, and it was Zionists who introduced it to a region where it previously held little ground. Consequently, the Palestinian hatred for those who replaced and dispossessed them is justified. Furthermore, when we examined the historical record, particularly the Haavara Agreement, we discovered that the fomenting of antisemitism has been an inherent characteristic of Zionism. Since effectively Zionist Jews are asking Palestinians to be Zionists (meaning to accept Israel's right to exist on stolen Palestinian land where Jews are the majority), let's ask the founder of the "Jewish state," David Ben-Gurion: Could Palestinians or Arabs ever become Zionists? Let's see what David had to say about this in 1938:

"Almost every [Palestinian] Arab" opposed Zionism, "because he is an Arab, because he is a Muslim, because he dislikes foreigners, and because we are hateful to him in every way." Also, consider how David Ben-Gurion implied that it was the Zionists who were the aggressors, at least from the political point of view. He admitted that Palestinians have the right to defend their lands (just imagine an American or Israeli politician saying that), which is now considered "antisemitism" or a "genocide" by most Zionist Jews. He stated in the context of the First Palestinian Intifada in 1938:

"When we say that the Arabs are the aggressors and we defend ourselves ---- that is only half the truth. As regards our security and life we defend ourselves. . . . But the fighting is only one aspect of the conflict, which is in its essence a political one. And politically, we are the aggressors and they defend themselves." (Righteous Victims, p. 652)

Hitler's Message To The West: If Jews are such noble citizens and you care about them, how come you're not letting them in?

Otherwise, the Arabs will wipe us out".

If you think what Ben-Gurion articulated wasn't expressive of Zionist leaders in the past and recent present, think twice. That said, nowadays, it is very frustrating to have any reasonable conversation with Zionist Jews, especially with the so-called liberals in the American Jewish community. To prove how ridiculous a demand this is, let us imagine enforcing such a rule in Nazi Germany. If Nazis conflated Zionism with Judaism, Zionists would have been the first to be persecuted. On the other hand, the facts show that the exact opposite happened. Not only did the father of antisemitism (Adolf Hitler) normalize Zionism when it was a fringe and despised group, but Hitler also showered them with privileges that only a few Aryans enjoyed. For God's sake, not for Hitler, Zionist enterprises (i.e., the Jewish Agency, JNF, etc.) during the great depression would have been liquidated (due to American Jewry cutting off funding during the Great Depression). When you examine how hard-core Nazis (such as Adolf Hitler, Adolf Eichmann, and Reinhard Heydrich) thought of Zionism, you might lose your mind. Many will be surprised to know that it was an open secret that most hard-core Nazis were fond of Zionism (Hitler even praised them in Mein Kampf), and many openly admired this Jewish Nationalist ideology. Many will be shocked to know that most German bureaucrats (civil servants, especially at the Reichsbank) were against extending the Haavara Agreement by early 1938. All warned Hitler that implementing this agreement would come at a great expense, and Germany's support could end up creating a "Jewish state," which would alienate millions of Arabs against the Nazi regime. Hitler didn't heed their advice and extended the Haavara Agreement anyhow, which continued to function until FDR shut it down in Dec. 1941.

In May 1939, MS St. Louis in Havana was refused to unload its Jewish passengers in Cuba & US, and it was forced to go back to Antwerp. The Jewish Agency refused to give any of its passengers immigration certificate visas to Palestine. Over 250 of those passengers perished during the Holocaust.

YES, we agree that the Nazis may not have been Zionists (which is not relevant to this discussion). However, for sure, Hitler's policies and actions were never anti-Zionist. Meaning Nazis' policies and actions were pro-Zionist in practice, and that was all the Zionist Jewry cared about. Actually, when the facts are examined, we find the Nazis favored Zionists with many privileges that only a few Aryans got, and both groups avoided fighting each other even at the height of the calamity. Nazis exploited Herzl's instruction in the ghettos when they employed mostly Zionists as Kapos, and that had dangerous ramifications.

Don't you find it odd how Zionist Jews eagerly worked hand in hand with every European antisemite (who were reluctant even to fight them during the calamity) but managed to weaponize antisemitism in the process to legitimize Palestinians' replacement and dispossession? Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Zionism is originally an antisemitic idea (deeply rooted in the Lutheran Church) that was adopted four centuries later by Theodor Herzl (the founder of Zionism) after the Dreyfus Trial in the late 19th century, which Europe's Jews universally rejected. Why do you think Zionist Organizations are actively promoting "I Love Hamas" Stickers? How many similar schemes were done, and we are ignorant about who was behind them?

If Zionist leaders and the founding fathers of the "Jewish state" already knew that this was a ridiculous demand to be demanded from Palestinians and Arabs, then we're forced to ask these hard questions:

• How does improperly weaponizing antisemitism not debase antisemitism, which Zionist Jews "claim" to care the most about?
• Since this phenomenon started in 2016 (Prof. Darek Pansler of Harvard put it in the late 1990s. Why did the weaponization of antisemitism not start soon after Nakba? Why has it been delayed for seven decades?
• Since the mass majority of Europe's Jews were anti-Zionists, and the religious Jewish establishment petitioned the UN against the creation of the Jewish state, does that imply they were antisemites, too? Therefore, based on this dangerous logic, not only hard-core Nazis got a free pass on antisemitism, but most importantly, the anti-Zionist Jewish victims of the Holocaust (mostly BUND) have become antisemitic! All this nonsense explains how and why those who survived the Holocaust and kept their anti-Zionist activities were labeled by Zionists as SELF-HATING JEWS. Are you surprised?   Since most of the countries that voted for the UN partition plan also voted for the Palestinian refugees' right to return to their stolen lands and homes. On the other hand, all know well known that the implementation of the Palestinians' right of return resolution would effectively reduce the Jewish majority to a minority (many would argue that is already the case between the river and the sea). Therefore, based on Zionist Jews' cynical circular genius logic, the United States, Great Britain, and France (who voted for the right of return resolution) are also antisemitic as well! • Since the American Jewish community has been used as the tip of the spear in marketing Zionist Big Lies (especially since the 6-Day War, here is proof), do they care that these policies reflect poorly on them?
• Is it possible that Zionist leaders' goal is to foment antisemitism? Didn't they do the same thing in the 1930s, and in return, they were rewarded handsomely?
• Does anyone in the West care that antisemitism is being intentionally fomented?

In the rest of this article, we shall address all these questions, but first, we have to briefly introduce how European Jewry confronted Zionism in the 1930s and 40s. As we investigated the Haavara Agreement, we were shocked to discover that most European Jews (especially those in Germany, Austria, and Hungary) knew well how dangerous Zionists could be, and that is why they looked upon them as the enemy from within. When Zionists fomented antisemitism (an evil process that Ben-Gurion often referred to as the LEVER) in the 1930s, the animosity between both groups grew, and it persisted after the war (see Kapos files for the details). That is why the majority of Europe's Jews voted with their feet and immigrated to the Americas to live with the Gentiles, even after Palestine was emptied.

The Dual Loyalty Trap

What has been tragically sad is that American Jews and their leaders knew well for seven decades that conflating anti-Zionism with antisemitism (and conflating Judaism with the "Jewish state") is very dangerous, which could risk fomenting antisemitism (see how Abraham Gurman describes the dual loyalty problem, which Hitler exploited as a political tool). This is an open secret in the American Jewish community. In fact, it was openly debated in early 1944 at the peak of the Holocaust! This explains why they delayed approving the weaponization of antisemitism by almost seven decades (watch Geoffrey Levin articulating our point for the next 10 to 12 minutes starting from 6:00).

Therefore, American Jews and their Jewish leaders didn't just sleepwalk into this trap; YES they could be arrogant, but they are not ignorant; they knew well of the risks of becoming Zionists' useful idiot. This fact has a dangerous implication, as it has been articulated by Abraham Gutman in 2021:

It is this conflation between Israel and Judaism, one that is baked into the foundation of Israel and perpetuated by its leaders, that leads to a problematic tautology: Israel’s leaders represent all Jewish people, and thus by definition any criticism of Israel must be criticism of all Jewish people — and hence antisemitic.

This tautology allows accusations of antisemitism to be weaponized, particularly against people who speak up about Palestinian rights — sometimes in ridiculous ways. (Supporting Palestinian rights is antisemitic because Israel wants it to be by Abraham Gutman)

[In the early 1950s, David Ben-Gurion (the founder of the "Jewish state") attempted to play this dangerous game but American Jewry were up in arms and managed quickly muzzle him. The 1950s financial crisis almost bankrupted Israel, and American Jewry used it as leverage. They refused to extend a billion dollars' worth of bonds to Israel unless Ben-Gurion gave them the exception they demanded! YES, this massive capital injection into a tiny country in the early 1950s was more like an indulgence fee!

That is how the Dual Loyalty trap was important for American Jewry. For those who care, we managed to track the exact signed document between Ben-Gurion and American Jewry. This modus-aprende continued for 75 years, and it seems after the Oct. 7th Gaza Raid, American Jewry caved in and gave the green light to breaking this agreement. That said, we are forced to conclude that the American Jewish community and its leaders are either desperate to protect Israel, plain stupid, reckless, don't care about their community, or a combination of all the above! Sadly, the last option seems to be the most plausible answer. On the subject of dual loyalty, we urge you to read what Peter Grose wrote (on p. 80) about how this issue (at least to American Jewry) was as old as Zionism itself. The issue of dual loyalty terrified American Jews way before the Holocaust, and it flared up every once in a while. Mr. Grose cited this issue many times over the first eight decades of the Zionist movement. We were shocked to discover that Nahum Goldmann (one of the most important founders of the "Jewish state" and one of the most important American Jewish leaders) warned about the dangers of weaponizing antisemitism and the Holocaust.
